Resident Evil Requiem, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth prove that Switch 2 is more than capable. I watched side by side comparisons of these games on Digital Foundry’s YouTube channel and I was honestly amazed at how minor the differences are between all consoles.
If you have to zoom in to an image by 25%/50% à la Digital Foundry to start pixel-peeping textures and resolution quality, then we really need to give ourselves a reality check. No disrespect to them, I appreciate their work, but it serves to highlight that we’re honestly splitting hairs at this point.
It’s up to talented developers to get these games running on the Switch 2, but we know it’s possible, and the trade-offs seem remarkably minor, Unreal Engine be damned.
