I wouldn't call the team at sandfall liars, especially when they included a picture of the actual development team in the game as an easter egg. Fact of the matter is only they know how much of work was put in by whom and they're saying it almost entirely came from them.

Wrong. There were exactly 32 guys who worked on the game day in and day out (there's a picture of them in the game) with some work outsourced to Koreans.
Sorry BG3, but The Outer Worlds 2 handles companion relationships way better
If only they had put as much though into writing the story and characters as they did with the relationship system. Even Avowed had better writing.

The people who are still playing bg3 is in the tens of thousands. Can you say the same about the newly released outer worlds 2? Fact of the matter is NOBODY cares about how neat a system is if you don't know how to use it well. Bg4 could use the exact system as bg3 and still be a mega hit IF larian's able the maintain the same quality of writing for the sequel. In other words, these systems are more like icing on the cake than anything else.
