On the one hand, both games are already perfect and need no further enhancement. On the other, I would pay the full $70 for EACH of those HD2D remakes the second they were to be made available.

The LOTR appendices do go into a reasonable amount of depth on Aragorn's reign as king of Gondor. He puts Faramir in charge of a vassal kingdom and makes the Shire into a sovereign protectorate among other details I may not be remembering right. The tax rate and trade policy is probably somewhere in there.

I was going to say the original wasn't all that hard if you spent enough time using Accumulate in chapter one, but that approach was a lot more viable in the 90s when I didn't have a mortgage and kids and etc. Squire it is!

While I agree that there are an excessive number of crafting/upgrading resources, I never felt like I had to spend a lot of effort during early access to keep track. Usually when a new incantation got added, I'd already have all or most of the ingredients, and the rest came along in the normal course of play.

What, did they not include your favorite homophobic joke from the Japanese version and ruin the 100+ hour game for you? I'm guessing the problem isn't that they cut out the iffy relationship options, since Trails of Cold Steel let the main character romance his teacher, his stepsister, and a classmate who straight up says "I know I was underage when we met, but now we can be together."
