See AllReviews give Splatoon Raiders the thumbs-up, evoking everything from Diablo to Doom
I’ve only played about 4 hours but I’m loving! It’s super addicting right away. As usual from Nintendo - just feels super polished. It’s beautiful in handheld, just looks and plays like butter.
also, Josh’s review (guardian one quoted here) is ridiculous. So harsh. It just sounds like he doesn’t like this type of game or think it’s valuable in any way. Why would he be chosen to review it? His review is like complaining about a fighting game because there is too much fighting..
Superhero fatigue isn't a real thing, Marvel just makes bad movies now
I totally agree with this.... I loved all the Marvel movies pre Avengers Endgame. Went to almost every one in theatres etc....
I do mayyyybe have a tad bit of fatigue of those movies. But it's mostly just because they got real bad! If a good, fresh take on a superhero movie comes out? I'm there. No doubt.
But all those ones mentioned in the top of the article - Wakanda forever etc.. those all sucked! I really tried with a few of them. But the quality just took a nosedive. They're so unfocused, sloppy. Look like crap graphically (how have they gone down in effects quality so much?)... They're just a mess. Too many storylines, too many characters no one cares about. They just need like a complete reset. Make it simple again.

Honestly dude I hate to break it to you, but a lot of those physical games dont work when internet is out either. I had the issue just last week when my internet went out loll... A ton of games have to contact the servers now to play.

Menage Ya, I don't know why this argument keeps getting thrown around. It's definitely, obviously, from people who don't buy digital. They're all over the internet like "Digital never gets discounts!" Like, what? I buy all digital, for years now, and I buy discounted games all the time... I just bought Doom Dark Ages Ult edition, comes with the DLC that comes out next week, for 20$ on the xbox store. It was like 70% off lol.. In my experience there is actually a bit better deals digitally.

I don't really get it. Put me firmly in the "this has been writing on the wall for years now..."
It's interesting, I was on reddit and I got into an argument about this with a PC master race kinda guy.... And I just do not get it. How is it any different than the way PC has been for YEARS? I mean, most these people who get all outraged, seem to be into PC. and they LOVE their digital steam library. What is the difference? Truly?
Say steam / Valve goes under tomorrow. What happens to all your games? bye bye.... But when people argue about this, it's all ahh sony this sony that. Valve is just the baby of a lot of fans, they love them. They're viewed as "gamer friendly" while operating basically a monolopy on PC gaming. I just do not see the difference. When's the last time anyone bought a physical PC game?
I work in IT, and this stuff has been doing on everywhere. We used to be a fully in-house IT type spot - Microsoft Exchange, Microsft server, all in house etc.. But for the last 5 years or so, we went to Microsoft 365 fully. And you don't own nothing! It's all licensed, its all subscription based.
Anyone who is surprised by this, just hasn't been paying attention. Per google - physical games accounted for roughly 15% of game sales in 2025. So what do you think the execs see when they look at those #'s? the choice is obvious. We as consumers, made our choice, years ago.
After 1 hour, Splatoon Raiders feels like Nintendo's Borderlands
Sounds awesome! Will definitely be getting this... Super down with this idea. The gameplay of Splatoon was always awesome, it would fit this type of game super well
