HALL COUNTY PARENTAL ACCOUNTABILITY COURT (PAC)

REACHES $2 MILLION MILESTONE

Hall County Superior Court is pleased to announce that its Parental Accountability Court (PAC) has collected over $2 million dollars in child support payments since its inception in 2011.

“This milestone is significant, first and foremost, for the hundreds of children supported by these payments, but it’s also significant for the hundreds of non-custodial parents who have benefited from the services and problem-solving efforts of program staff,” stated Magistrate Judge Michelle Hall. Judge Hall has presided over the local PAC program on behalf of Hall County Superior Court since 2024.

The Parental Accountability Court program is a joint effort of the Georgia Division of Human Services (DHS) and the Northeastern Judicial Circuit. Its mission is to secure the payment of fair and reasonable child support obligations by providing individualized services and removing common barriers to compliance, such as unemployment, incarceration, homelessness, illiteracy, or substance abuse.

The program helps develop increased personal responsibility while keeping participants out of jail Program participants are required to attend regular meetings with the program coordinator to provide an update on their progress, pay toward their child support at least monthly, show proof of employment or work search efforts, and appear at monthly court status hearings.

Hall County’s PAC program was originally launched by Superior Court Judge Bonnie Chessher Oliver. The program was last recognized by DHS in November 2020 for crossing the $1 million collection threshold.
