Mission Statement
The NCBFAA Educational Institute provides flexible, relevant educational opportunities to members of the NCBFAA, larger trade community, and next generation industry entrants to strengthen regulatory compliance in the cross-border trade realm and increase professionalism for individuals who desire to begin or advance a career in the industry.
Certifications
The NCBFAA Educational Institute (NEI) is the premier educational institute for providing industry focused training for our professional individual members and the international trade community. We offer three foundational designations one of which is the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS). The other foundational designation we offer is the Certified Export Specialist (CES) in partnership with GISTnet. Also, two advanced designations which are the Masters Customs Specialist (MCS) and the Masters Export Specialist (MES). Recently, we have expanded our certification programs to include the Certified Zone Specialist (CZS) in partnership with the NAFTZ and the FIATA Diploma in partnership with FIATA and TraversED. All certifications can be completed on NEI's Logistics-EI website except for the Certified Export Specialist (CES) which can be completed on GISTnet's website.

CCS
The NCBFAA's Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Certification is designed to assist trade professionals in becoming experts in the current import regulations.

MCS
The Master Customs Specialist (MCS) Certification designates its holders as possessing advanced knowledge and skills in U.S. Customs and its partner government agencies.

CES
The Certified Export Specialist (CES) certification program is designed to help trade professionals become knowledgeable in current export regulations.

MES
Designed for a broad audience, the Master Export Specialist (MES) certificate program introduces an even higher level of excellence to our continuing education program.

CZS
The Certified Zone Specialist (CZS) certification program is designed to educate trade professionals in the growing and evolving U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) industry.
Continuing Education
Continuing education is key to the mission of the NCBFAA Educational Institute (NEI). Once an individual has earned one of our four professional designations (CCS, MCS, CES, or MES), they must earn a they must earn a minimum of 15 continuing education credits each year to be eligible for recertification along with paying a $95 renewal fee.
