Mindfulness and Meditation to Support Healthy Aging
Stress and adversity are realities of everyday life. In this class, attendees will experience a sampling of mindfulness practices that can be applied to situations in everyday life, and in turn, boost resilience and quality of life.
PRESENTER: Bunny Nash
Bunny Nash has spent her career supporting youth living with challenging situations and adversity in school and residential settings. Over the last 15 years, she has been pursuing her passion for understanding the science related to stress, resilience and mindfulness. Bunny came to find the power of mindfulness practices in her personal and professional life as she explored ways to support young people managing stress, emotions, and challenging life experiences.
Bunny has received certifications through the Earth and Spirit Center’s Mindfulness Meditation Training Program, Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention, and 24 Postures Therapeutic Qigong. Bunny teaches classes related to meditation in motion, the science of stress and the practice of mindfulness, and facilitates the Mindful Aging Circle at the Louisville-based Earth and Spirit Center. Bunny is also a mentor through the ESC’s Mindfulness Mentors program where she facilitates groups in mindfulness practices for under-resourced populations in the community.
