There's definitely some cool things the developers have pulled off here, stunning atmosphere at times, sandworms are scary and hilarious, but the bad simply outweighs the good. The combat is underdeveloped. Yes,it's a survival game that requires resource gathering and researching schematics, okay, but does it have to feel so terrible? Why would anyone want to pursue PvP when the fundamentals to seriously support this kind of gameplay just don't exist here?

I still come back league after league, patch after patch. HH, Mageblood, speed farming, the atlas passive tree, the economy shenanigans, gambling all your **** 1 is special. Somehow it all just kinda works and not much else compares despite the obvious game engine and visual clarity issues. Minor flaws but overall it's a masterpiece if you can stick around long enough to understand the systems and the freedom this ARPG provides.

The people who say things like 'if you think Diablo 4 is a bad game, then you haven't played a bad game' are trying to take away your right to an opinion. Don't let them. You have the right to express your opinions and judgements about the entertainment you enjoy. You have the same agency and autonomy they do. These people generously assume a kind of omniscient objectivity regarding their own assessments and that kindness is not extended to you. For me, Diablo 4 misunderstands the basic components of what makes an ARPG fun and compelling both in terms of itemization and aesthetics. That's my opinion. Cool, thanks, take care.
