Healthcare AI is moving from answering questions to taking action, and that brings a critical question: how much authority should an AI agent have? As AI becomes more autonomous, setting boundaries around access, decisions, and accountability will be just as important as the technology itself. For healthcare, where AI actions can have real consequences, this distinction between capability and authority will be critical to building trust and enabling responsible adoption. This thoughtful article by Dr. Gleb Tsipursky explores why #healthcareAI agents may need clearly defined “authority budgets” before they can safely act. https://lnkd.in/eZmDBkZw #HealthcareAI #AgenticAI #DigitalHealth #HealthIT #ResponsibleAI #AIinHealthcare

Healthcare AI needs a “stop state.” We spend a lot of time asking: What should AI do? Perhaps the more important question is: When should AI stop? A responsible healthcare AI workflow should know when to stop: → because evidence is missing → because the case is outside its scope → when the output needs human review → at an authorisation boundary → when an external handoff fails Takeaway: Don’t just design AI to complete workflows, but design it to fail safely, pause visibly, preserve evidence and hand control back to the right person. What if the stop state became a mandatory design requirement for every healthcare AI deployment? As healthcare organisations continue to adopt AI and automation, many expect claim denials to decline. Yet denial rates are rising, creating significant financial and administrative challenges across the sector. A key reason is that many revenue cycle management (RCM) platforms were designed for general healthcare rather than specialty care. Complex specialties such as Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, and Anaesthesia require highly specialised coding, documentation, and payer rules. When technology isn't built to support these requirements, denials become more frequent, payments are delayed, and staff spend valuable time correcting avoidable errors. AI is undoubtedly transforming healthcare, but its effectiveness depends on the strength of the systems beneath it. To reduce denials and improve operational efficiency, healthcare providers need technology designed specifically for the complexities of specialty care. Investing in the right digital foundation is just as important as investing in AI itself. Scientific breakthroughs in cell and gene therapies are transforming medicine and offering new hope to patients. However, one major challenge remains: manufacturing these therapies efficiently and at scale. Unlike traditional medicines, biologics are produced using living cells and are often personalised for each patient. This requires a new approach to manufacturing, one that is automated, flexible, and closer to where patients receive care. The future of healthcare depends on discovering new therapies and on building the infrastructure to deliver them safely, quickly, and affordably. Explore a thought-provoking read on this topic by Rose Morrison https://lnkd.in/e4f7kDmU The key message is: Scientific discoveries alone are not enough. We also need better manufacturing systems so that these life-saving treatments can reach more patients quickly, safely, and at a lower cost. #CellTherapy #GeneTherapy #Biomanufacturing #Biotechnology #PrecisionMedicine #HealthcareInnovation Medigy

In this thought-provoking article, Saul W. Marquez, CEO & Founder of Outcomes Rocket, explores how Google DeepMind’s AI Co Clinician could fundamentally reshape healthcare marketing and SEO. The article highlights a critical shift: healthcare organizations may no longer compete only for traditional search rankings or website traffic. As AI systems increasingly guide patient decisions, visibility will depend on whether an organization is recognised, trusted, and recommended by AI itself. This signals an evolution from traditional SEO to what many are now calling AI recommendation optimization, where authority, credibility, expert-led content, PR, and thought leadership become central to digital discoverability. A key takeaway is that healthcare brands must move beyond producing large volumes of content and instead focus on building genuine expertise, trusted media presence, and clinical authority across the wider information ecosystem. An important perspective on the future intersection of AI, healthcare, PR, and SEO. The conversations emerging from the recent John Lynn-led Swaay.Health Marketing Community LIVE 2026 conference made one thing clear: the future of healthcare transformation will depend on balancing innovation with authenticity, operational realities, and patient-centered thinking. Digital transformation is reshaping healthcare, but trust, human experience, and clarity of purpose remain central. As Kwami Ngaojia observed: “AI is well and good, but there is potential for over-reliance on it, instead of authentic storytelling.” This reflects a growing concern across healthcare communications. While AI-driven content generation and automation are accelerating efficiency, healthcare remains deeply human. Equally important was the insight shared by Beth Friedman, FACHDM : “Another huge trend in this age of AI is the growing impact of building authority of voice, not just for the company but for executives too.” In the era of large language models and AI-mediated discovery, organizational credibility increasingly depends on visible subject matter expertise. According to Sally Mildren, “Clients talk about the resource constraints of doing more with less. We need to focus on doing better with less.” That shift from volume to value may define the next decade of healthcare marketing strategy. One of the most practical patient-centered observations came from Ben Cash: “In the struggle to bring great change, health systems are missing the fundamentals, like allowing patients to schedule appointments online.” This insight highlights a persistent paradox in healthcare innovation: organizations often pursue advanced technologies while basic digital patient experiences remain fragmented. While Shahid Shah of Netspective Communications brought forward one of the most overlooked barriers to innovation adoption into sharp focus: “The buying cycle for complex technology is growing. Companies are more hesitant to buy because they think they can build it for themselves.” That is an important strategic signal. As healthcare organizations face budget pressure, governance complexity, and cautious procurement behavior, the real challenge is not only creating better technology, but also helping buyers understand where external innovation accelerates outcomes more effectively than internal reinvention. At the same time, voices like Tim Busche, MBA, reminded attendees to remain optimistic: “This is a watershed moment with innovation happening in America, and other countries will benefit from it.” The patient experience lens was sharpened further by Anna McCollister and the broader community of leaders who are pushing the industry to stay grounded in real-world needs.
