Why typography and kerning matter for your brand

This title was summarized by AI from the post below.

This is why typography matters For anyone who thinks typography and kerning (letter spacing) isn’t important … Here’s the difference between going to a reputable business or… this guy. Hire a designer. Not AI. Your brand (and reputation) depend on it. #DesignFails #TypographyMatters #GraphicDesign #animateEverything

Always felt type is the backbone of communications, yet it is often dismissed, when it comes to good typography. Never met a headline that I didn’t want to spend time ‘massaging’ the letter and word spacing! Yes, it matters!!

There was a good point earlier about details. What I’m noticing since AI exploded is more of these mistakes showing up everywhere. Businesses are leaning too hard on AI to do the work and the little details are slipping. Funny enough, those are exactly the things customers notice first. Is AI making us blind to these details, or is it exposing who actually has the eye for them?

I’m honestly shocked at the reach this little post got, the impressions, comments, and shares have been crazy to follow. It always surprises me which posts take off, but clearly this hit a nerve. And it’s not just about designers, this touches everything. Really appreciate all the back-and-forth here. I’m obsessed with typography, so if you’ve got any hilarious or painful examples of bad type out in the wild, drop them here, I’d love to see them.

I always check the kerning and most likely tweak it in every single logo I create. Been doing this for 30 years and kerning has always been a concern for me.

This is clearly edited, but the point is still valid. Similarly, I had a website client who was a therapist. Every time I researched domains, that's what stood out and we went in a different direction.
