You can slack in a full-time job and still save your back. But never as a freelancer. You postpone a presentation you committed to. You reschedule a meeting at the last minute. You miss a social media post you promised to deliver. Each one may seem small. But when you’re a freelancer, these small things can take away your client’s trust. Because clients aren’t just paying for your skills. They’re paying for reliability. That’s why self-discipline and commitment are non-negotiable when you freelance. Freelancing gives you freedom and flexibility. But freedom without responsibility can cost you clients. When you work for yourself, your word is your reputation. #freelancing

In 2016, freelance trust was built on reviews and screenshots. That's not what wins clients anymore. That's changed. Clients today ask sharper questions, want to see process not just results, and are far more likely to have been burned before by someone who overpromised. What's worked for me isn't a sales pitch — it's being upfront early about what a project actually needs, including telling a client when their idea has a cheaper or simpler solution than what they asked for. Counterintuitively, saying "you don't need that" has landed me more repeat clients than saying yes to everything ever did. Trust on freelance platforms isn't built by sounding confident. It's built by being right, consistently, in small ways first. What's built trust with your clients over the years? #freelancing #upwork #clientrelationships #webdevelopment

The hardest part of freelancing can be getting someone to take a chance on you before you have testimonials, case studies or a long portfolio. That’s why your first five clients require a slightly different approach. Use your existing network. Look for problems you can genuinely solve. Show your thinking. Go where clients are already looking. Then turn every project into proof for the next one. Save this if you’re starting your freelance journey. #Freelancing #FreelanceCareer #FreelanceTips #Osdire

When people think about going freelance, they often focus first on whether they have the skills to do the work. That matters, but it’s only part of the decision. You also have to think about whether you can explain what you offer, whether clients have reasons to trust you, how much uncertainty you can tolerate, what variable income would mean for you, and whether freelance work actually fits the way you want to live and work. And you do not need to have every piece in place before you begin. Some gaps can be worked on as you get started. Others are better addressed first. We created a Freelance Readiness Self-Assessment to help people sort through those questions before making a decision. It covers six areas: professional readiness, credibility and market readiness, business readiness and risk tolerance, financial readiness, lifestyle fit, and professional support. There’s no score and no pass/fail result. The point is to help you see where you are already well prepared, where you have gaps, and what your next steps might be. If you’re considering freelancing, you can get the assessment here: https://lnkd.in/gHxbPy4M #MedicalCommunication #Freelancing #ProfessionalDevelopment
