Mastercard and Tamatem Games partner to enhance in-game payments across MENA Mastercard and Tamatem, a leading MENA mobile games publisher, have partnered to enhance in-app gaming and payment experiences across the region. Under the partnership, Mastercard Gateway will power payments for Tamatem Plus, Tamatem’s digital commerce and marketplace platform, across more than 13 markets in MENA, starting with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Players will be able to pay through cards, local alternative payment methods and telco wallets, with built-in authentication and fraud protection. Mastercard and Tamatem Games have agreed to expand payment capabilities for gamers across the Middle East and Africa, beginning with Saudi Arabia and the UAE. ⠀ Under the partnership, Mastercard Gateway will support payments across Tamatem Plus, allowing the platform to offer card payments alongside locally used alternatives, including telecom-linked payment options. ⠀ Tamatem Plus already supports more than 30 localized storefronts and over 50 local payment methods. Its model combines cards, electronic wallets, direct carrier billing and cash-based payment channels for gamers and publishers across the region. ⠀ The partnership is focused on strengthening the payment infrastructure behind Tamatem Plus rather than creating a new consumer gaming platform.
