Site Behind Major SSN Leak Returns With Detailed Data on Millions: How to Opt Out - PCMag National Public Data is back with new owners, joining the ranks of other creepy, people-finding services. Here's how to get your profile removed from the site. National Public Data, a website infamous for its role in leaking millions of Social Security numbers last year, has returned with the ability to look up anyone's personal information.  The site shut down in December amid a wave of lawsuits against parent company Jericho Pictures after a breach exposed an estimated 272 million unique SSNs and 600 million phone numbers. Since then, the site has been relatively dormant. But today, we spotted the nationalpublicdata.com domain springing back to life with a new interface. Still, what makes the site disturbing is how you can freely look up people’s data and sometimes find accurate addresses, phone numbers, and dates of birth, along with a person’s relatives. None of the data is behind a paywall. That said, the new site isn’t much different from other people-finding services, which serve up similar data for free.  The new National Public Data adds: "On our people search website, you can find pretty much anything you need, from someone’s contact info, location, age, and birthday to workplace, relatives, and criminal records. No need to sift through different web pages." How to Remove Your Profile From National Public Data The new National Public Data site has an opt-out form to delete your profile data. However, many users are likely unaware of such an option, enabling these type of sites to continue trafficking their information. 🚨 Here's how to delete your data: Search your name on nationalpublicdata.com When you find your profile, click View Full Profile - Copy that URL - Go to https://lnkd.in/gCeBvE99 - Drop the URL into the Your Profile Link field and click Request Removal - Enter an email address, and the site will send you a message and ask you to click to confirm deletion. You need a separate email address for each profile you want to delete. - Consider submitting a throwaway email account you have access to in order to protect your privacy. We tried the opt-out function, and the site appears to remove your data immediately. Some in the comments say they haven't received the confirmation email. Check your spam folder and make sure you're dropping the full URL for your profile into the link box, not just the search results page. We contacted nationalpublicdata.com and Perfect Privacy, and we’ll update the story if we hear back. In the meantime, sites such as Atlas Privacy have emerged to help people remove their data from the open web and people-finding services. What Luis Garay of Samaipata is pointing here is spot on. The SaaS for SMB category is a mountain that has seen many perish. It's also something that is large enough to not ignore for ever and deserves multiple fresh attempts. Particularly SMBs are the bedrock of the economies. Be it Europe, India or NA. But serving them the traditional SaaS way has been unviable for long. Agentic / AI has a very strong chance to unlock that potential by lowering the cost of maintenance and serving those customers like high touch customers through an intelligence layer, accessible 24x7 accessible at a fractional cost vis-a-vis traditional SaaS. The broader impact of this can mean a fundamental elevation of success rate of SMBs and their efficiency, which can lift the economic tide and that tide can lift all the boats. SaaS founders and CTOs - how are you actually using AI in your concept-design-development workflow right now? We've been using Lovable to build and iterate on feature concepts, and it's an incredible tool. But it doesn't seem like those concepts can be easily "plugged into" our live, enterprise-grade B2B SaaS product. The reality is that it takes our team longer to clean up and integrate Lovable’s code than it would to just rebuild from scratch using Figma mockups and Cursor. So now we’re considering this process: - Use Lovable to iterate and develop responsive feature concepts. - Have a designer rapidly turn those into Figma mockups using our UI kit. - Hand those to our devs to rebuild in Cursor. It feels backwards to convert code to static mockups, then back to code. Has anyone been able to actually leverage code written by a non-developer using AI, in enterprise SaaS applications? Or are tools like Lovable still just for conceptualization and vibe coding calendar apps? Curious how others are approaching this.

Most MSP owners think discovery is about gathering technical information. How many users?  How many servers?  What's your current setup? Stop.  You're wasting discovery on questions that could be filled out on a form. Discovery should be about understanding their buying process and the real problems you're solving. Here's what I want to know…  What makes this a NOW conversation? Not six months ago, not six months from now. When you're making decisions like this with service providers, who else is typically involved?  Do you usually decide as a group or work with a board? What is the problem that we’re really solving for you with IT services? What kind of pains or symptoms are you feeling right now? If you had a 10 out of 10 service provider, what would that look like for you? And what would that help you accomplish? Then I pull on the threads.  "How long has that been a problem?"  "What have you tried to fix it so far?" “What's the cost of that to your business?" All sales is about change. People buy things to feel better, go faster, spend less, or achieve some kind of change. And I want to understand the transformation they're buying. Because they care far more about achieving that than they do the tools I used to deliver it. And if you ask the right questions in discovery, the answers become the only rebuttals you’ll ever need. As I tell our members and clients: All roads lead to discovery. Every stall deal and objection you can’t handle something that was missed and discovery. NOT another MJBiz recap from me. I was there for one thing: AI and how it is already changing the face of cannabis retail. It's really confusing now, everybody is using those two letters, AI. But there is a lot underneath the tip of the AI iceberg that defines quality and outcomes. Just because someone or something says AI-powered to drive a menu, a result, a recommendation, or an outcome, do not take it at face value. Educate yourself before you lock into something that is hard and expensive to unwind later. Rick Bashkoff of Lit Alerts kept the conversation tight, and Jason Siegel of Kiva Brands, Inc. brought a dose of reality and operational considerations. We talked about what happens when you move past menus, discounts, and THC percentages and start treating the digital experience like a real relationship. AI as infrastructure, not a toy, and what it takes to actually move cart size, conversion, and loyalty instead of adding more noise. At StrainBrain, we are staying heads down on that problem, how AI sits on top of existing tech, reduces friction for shoppers, and helps retailers make better decisions in real time.
