Wei Manfredi shared thisBeing named to the DataIQ 100 North America 2026 Top 10 is both humbling and, honestly, a bit surreal. Awards like this have a funny way of singling out individuals, but anyone doing real work in data and AI knows there’s no such thing as a solo win. This recognition belongs to the teams I’ve had the privilege to build with, learn from, and occasionally debate with a little too passionately. We’re in a moment where data and AI are no longer support functions, they are shaping how companies think, operate, and compete. What excites me most is not the technology itself, but the people pushing it forward, responsibly, creatively, and with real business impact. My appreciation to DataIQ for continuing to elevate data excellence and, more importantly, for bringing this community together. That collective energy, shared learning, and healthy challenge is what actually moves the field forward. Grateful for the colleagues, mentors, and partners who continue to challenge my thinking and raise the bar every day. And to the teams at IHG Hotels & Resorts and my previous teams at McDonald's, who are doing the hard, often invisible work behind the scenes, this is as much yours as it is mine. Wei Manfredi shared thisWorking with AI feels a lot like raising teenagers. You see the potential before it does. You also know how easily it can be shaped, or misled, by the world around it. I’ve been one of the more optimistic voices about what AI can do for society, especially its potential to expand access across all backgrounds and communities. But optimism without responsibility is just negligence. Because I’ve also seen, up close, what it means to grow up inside an algorithm. My older daughter Lucia came of age in that environment. Like many working parents, we gave her a phone at 14. By 17, she became an overnight influencer. Not by design, just by being a teenager in public. Social platforms turned her into content before she had the chance to define herself. It took years for her to reclaim her own voice. What could have been flattening became formative. With the guidance of her professors at Occidental College, she transformed that experience into meaningful work. Today, we’re celebrating her receiving not one, but two awards for it. The same technologies that can amplify human potential can also compress identity. Lucia’s journey is why I don’t see AI ethics and governance as a compliance exercise. It’s a parenting challenge at a civilizational scale. We’re not just building systems that reach people. We’re shaping systems that shape people, especially the next generation. That responsibility is not optional. Proud of you, Lucia. ❤️ #AIEthics #ResponsibleAI #

Wei Manfredi shared thisThis captures exactly what the conversation felt like — grounded, honest, and sincere. Grateful to have shared the stage with leaders from Sanford Health, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bank of America and UpScale AI. Different industries, same hard-won lesson: governance, talent, and measurable outcomes matter just as much as the technology itself. Humility, deliberate, curiosity with never too much agility, is the AI culture we all are forming. Thank you Reuters for the high quality and high energy event.Wei Manfredi shared thisWhat does the enterprise AI landscape actually look like when you get past the announcements and into the operational reality? This panel at Momentum AI NYC had answers — and they came from people running AI inside some of the world's most complex organisations. A few things that stood out: Scale is not just a technology problem. IHG operates a 70% franchised hotel network — you cannot mandate AI adoption top-down across that structure. Empowering employees as AI creators, not just users, becomes the strategy The outcomes can be striking when the use case is right. Sanford Health used AI to address chronic kidney disease in rural communities, doubling screenings and tripling early diagnoses Infrastructure decisions made today will constrain or enable everything that follows. Scalable architecture and open standards are not technical preferences — they are strategic choices High-tech does not replace high-touch. Bank of America's approach integrates AI into contact centres in a way designed to improve both client and employee experience, not eliminate one in favour of the other Across pharma, healthcare, hospitality, and financial services — the organisations making progress are the ones treating governance, talent development, and measurable outcomes as equally important as the technology itself. Wei Manfredi posted thisGoogle Cloud Next '26: Five Things Every Enterprise Leader Should Pay Attention To 1. Agents Are Now THE Enterprise Operating Model Google introduced the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, enabling enterprises to build, scale, govern, and optimize agents comprehensively. The question has shifted from whether to deploy agents to who owns the agent layer within your organization. 2. The "We Can't Act On Our Data" Excuse Is Dead With the new Cross-Cloud Lakehouse, enterprises can now query data from any location — including AWS — instantly and without migration friction. ELT or Data Cloud Migration? Google might just dissolve it. 3. Cybersecurity Got an AI Upgrade — Whether You're Ready or Not The Triage and Investigation Agent has already processed over 5 million alerts, collapsing a 30-minute manual analysis to just 60 seconds. Threat actors are already using AI. Now defenders have it too. This is a boardroom conversation now! 4. The Compute Economics Just Shifted — Again The new TPU 8i delivers 80% better performance per dollar for AI inference, significantly changing the cloud cost model for enterprises running AI at scale. 5. Google Just Set the Internal Bar — And It's Uncomfortably High 75% of all new code at Google is now AI-generated, up from 50% just last fall. Where does your engineering org actually stand? In short, from NEXT 2026, Google Cloud isn't selling infrastructure anymore. They're selling a new definition of what an enterprise looks like. #GoogleNEXT2026

Wei Manfredi shared thisThree under-discussed insights from this 81k user report: 1. Scope beats speed — and that’s the real disruption signal. Most AI discourse fixates on “doing things faster.” But 48% of users cited scope expansion as their primary productivity gain, versus 40% who emphasized speed. Scope means AI is enabling people to do entirely new things they couldn’t do before — a delivery driver building an e-commerce business, a landscaper shipping a music app. That’s not productivity augmentation. That’s occupational boundary dissolution. The workforce implications of scope are far more structurally disruptive than speedup, and almost nobody is planning for it. 2. The U-shaped fear curve flips the usual narrative. The standard assumption: more AI benefit = more AI anxiety. But the relationship between speedup and perceived job threat is U-shaped — people who reported AI slowing them down were also highly likely to feel threatened, often creative workers who found AI too rigid for their work but feared its broader diffusion into their fields. The threat isn’t just felt by people being replaced — it’s also felt by people who can’t use AI effectively. Two very different problems requiring two very different interventions. 3. Early-career workers are bearing a disproportionate share of the anxiety — and the data suggests they’re right to. Early-career respondents were much more likely to express concern about job displacement than senior workers, and only 60% of early-career workers indicated that they personally benefited from AI, compared to 80% of senior professionals. Combined with Anthropic’s earlier finding of a slowdown in graduate hiring, this isn’t just anxiety — it’s a rational read of the market. The people with the least leverage are absorbing the most risk. For enterprise AI leaders like yourself, this has direct implications for how you structure entry-level roles post-transformation. https://lnkd.in/g3dspWvD

From the front line of delivering Agentic systems Forget the pilot and the launch party. The real game of agentic AI starts when it goes live. In 2026, a lot of Agentic systems are shifting from isolated pilot programs to full enterprise-scale deployment. Being in the middle of this shift, I see these areas to focus on 1. Token Discipline. This is the key to control cost for Agentic systems. Treating tokens like a precious currency and implementing real-time metrics for every agent request. Without this, costs spiral and the ROI vanishes. Tokens are the measure of Cost Of Goods Sold (for those of you in finance LOL). 2. Think agent Observatory, not dashboards. Develop or integrate with systems that evaluate agent accuracy, detect subtle failures, and trigger automated playbooks is top of mind. I see observability as the smoke detector for customer trust. Without one we are flying blind, and the first one who will notice that our system doesn’t deliver value is…our customer. 3. Institutionalize Lineage. This often overlooked. Every data source, prompt version, model iteration, reasoning result and evidence should be traceable. Version everything. And in all this, my observation is also that the definition of the secret sauce, our intellectual property, and competitive advantage, has shifted from traditional AI models a few years ago to the agentic reasoning prompts and the data layers and knowledge graphs powering these agents. Interesting times! #AIStrategy #AgenticAI #LiveAgents 2026

Strong example of what responsible AI done right actually looks like. This piece by Lisa Schneider highlights why the Team Select and Cuesta Partners Silver Anthem Award matters beyond the trophy. This is not AI theater. It is applied, operational, and designed for real-world adoption in healthcare. A few things that stood out to me: • Data first, always. The AI model succeeded because the data foundations were built correctly first. Dashboards, business data models, and shared definitions delivered value immediately and reduced downstream risk. • Problem-led AI, not tech-led AI. The team resisted the urge to boil the ocean. They focused on a narrow, high-impact use case where early signals could genuinely change patient outcomes. • Interpretability over black boxes. Risk scores alone are useless in clinical environments. Surfacing contributing factors made the model trustworthy and actionable for care teams. • Workflow is the product. Adoption was designed, not assumed. Clear operating models, clinical co-design, and on-site alignment made the difference between a model that exists and one that gets used. This is the kind of AI story Tech leaders should be studying. Not because it is flashy, but because it is repeatable. Build the data muscle. Pick the right problem. Design for humans. Then scale. Awards are nice. Fewer hospitalizations and better patient outcomes are better. Well worth the read to see how AI that actually improves lives!

What if RETAIL AI didn’t just recommend - but actually executes the next best action across your value chain? On January 8, 2026, Microsoft announced new agentic AI capabilities designed to connect merchandising, marketing, store operations and fulfillment into a coordinated “intelligence layer” so teams can anticipate, decide and act faster. Two parts I’m watching closely: a) Copilot Checkout: shoppers can complete purchases discovered in Copilot without being redirected - now available in the U.S., with partners including PayPal, Shopify and Stripe. b) Retail agents: from brand-aligned shopping agents to catalog enrichment and a store operations agent that supports associates with inventory, policies and next-best actions. And for the shop floor: pairing these experiences with Surface Copilot+ PCs brings secure, mobile, on-device AI performance to every shift. https://lnkd.in/dfP8QyPZ

Microsoft’s fascinating research presents medical AI’s remarkable power. Benchmarked against real-world case records published weekly in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Microsoft AI Diagnostic Orchestrator (MAI-DxO) demonstrates its ability to accurately diagnose up to 85% of NEJM case proceedings. This rate surpasses that of a group of experienced physicians by a significant margin, indicating the potential of AI in healthcare diagnostics. MAI-DxO achieves this diagnosis at a more cost-effective cost compared to physicians, highlighting its potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery and affordability. IBM continues to play a distinctive role in the AI landscape by focusing on enterprise-grade adoption rather than consumer-facing hype. Its strategy centers on trusted AI, hybrid cloud, and industry-specific solutions designed for real production environments. Recent momentum highlights deeper integration between AI platforms, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and mission-critical enterprise workflows. IBM’s approach emphasizes governance, security, and reliability — areas that matter most when AI moves from experimentation into regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, and government. As enterprises scale AI across complex organizations, success will depend less on raw model performance and more on integration, compliance, and operational maturity. This is where IBM’s long-standing enterprise DNA continues to differentiate its role in the AI ecosystem.

#MCP is quickly becoming the de-facto integration layer for online services. Model Context Protocol is just over a year old, yet it has already reshaped how we build online services, connect them to AI, and expand what those systems are capable of. Google just announced MCP support across its entire suite of services. I'd say MCP is on track to become the HTTP of the AI era. As we head into 2026, how are you using MCP today, and what would you like to see next for the protocol and its ecosystem? * https://lnkd.in/g92RdMBB

🏛️ What if your AI didn't work alone? I just built a "Council of LLMs" workflow inspired by Ollie Scheers post, and Andrej Karpathy's original concept, where multiple AI models collaborate like a real advisory board. Here's how it works: Instead of trusting a single AI model, this is a democratic system where 4 leading models deliberate together: 🤖 The Council Members: OpenAI GPT-4 - Technical depth Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet - Structured reasoning Google Gemini Pro - Creative insights Perplexity Sonar Pro - Current facts ⚖️ The Process: All models answer the same question independently Each model anonymously peer-reviews the others' responses A "Chairman" AI synthesizes the best insights from everyone You get a comprehensive report combining multiple perspectives Why this matters: We often treat AI like a single expert. But what if we treated it like a board meeting? Different models have different strengths. GPT-4 excels at technical analysis, Claude at reasoning, Gemini at creativity, Perplexity at current events.
