I saw this bumper sticker and was reminded of how unique the #insurance business is. It’s hard to think of a more essential product an individual or company buys that is routinely misunderstood, especially when simply comparing the price of one to the other. Too often insurance buyers mis-place trust in the products and services they choose, going with whatever is less expensive because we’ve all been brainwashed that cheaper = better. That’s not always the case, especially when it comes to the risks of doing business in the modern world. Tabitha Marblestone reacted on thisTabitha Marblestone reacted on thisThings we, event professionals, consider completely normal that would sound unhinged to everyone else. • Being emotionally attached to a seating chart. • Celebrating because 1,300 people found the correct room. • Spending 30 minutes discussing coffee station placement. • Walking 25,000 steps and calling it "a light day." • Having strong opinions about loading docks. • Referring to a disaster as a "last-minute adjustment." • Knowing exactly how many breakfast sandwiches are needed for 1,000 attendees. (and no, it's not 1000 for the non-eventprof reading this!) • Checking registration numbers before checking your text messages. • Thinking in room sets, capacities, and contingency plans. • Looking at an empty ballroom and imagining the finished event. • Measuring time in "days until show site." • Getting a rush from seeing registration lines move quickly. My kids think my job is staying in hotels, eating room service, and going to Las Vegas. What they don't see are the months of planning, thousands of decisions, and countless hours that happen before attendees ever walk through the doors. But I'll admit this: There is something special about waking up the morning after a successful event, ordering breakfast, and enjoying a few quiet minutes before heading home. Tabitha Marblestone reacted on thisIn the aftermath of COVID, we transitioned from a fully in-person, five-days-a-week-in-office team into a remote team. And everything was fine. Until it wasn't. When things started breaking, we knew we needed to do something. Our solution was to create a regular cadence of times when teams come together to work in the same physical space. This isn't necessarily about big planning sessions or kickoffs, but about getting actual work done, together. We called this concept WOW (Work Onsite Week). WOW's became a huge part of our culture, our operating mechanism, and our glue. I honestly don't think BetterHelp would have been as successful as it was if it weren't for WOW's. There was just one big problem: execution was hard. When you go remote, you typically lose your physical space, and then you find that other spaces (e.g., hotel conference rooms) simply aren't cut out for this kind of real work. You also lose the operational muscle. There's no "office manager" when you don't have an office, but you definitely need one (or more) for that week. Lucky for us, we had the one and only Sahar Naim, who made every WOW a smashing success. AND NOW YOU CAN BE LUCKY TOO! Because Sahar just went entrepreneurial (yay!) and launched her own company. PopHQ is offering this exact concept as a fully managed service, including a space specifically designed for the purpose. I'm sure this would become another one of her successes, so reach out quickly before it gets fully booked.Tabitha Marblestone reacted on thisI launched a company 🎉 When I left my full-time role earlier this year, I thought I'd be focusing on consulting, going back to school, and being more present with my kids. What I didn't expect was that creating space would finally give an idea I'd been carrying around for years room to breathe. For 25 years, across every role I've held, I've been the person who made sure everything worked and everyone felt taken care of. That looked like moving entire companies over a weekend, building culture from scratch, and working on a Sunday to make sure Monday morning felt like magic. I was the person who made fresh hard-boiled eggs for my team every morning. The one who noticed when someone was having a hard week. The one who made sure a new hire felt like they'd been there for years. Looking back, what I was really creating wasn't operations. It was experiences. The biggest expression of that came during my time at BetterHelp, where I helped design and run more than 20 onsite experiences for a mostly remote team. Every time, I watched something happen that couldn't be replicated on Slack or Zoom. New hires found their footing faster. Relationships deepened. Teams became more connected to each other and to the mission they were building together. Over the last few weeks I've talked with founders, operators, people leaders, and landlords. What I kept hearing is that this challenge isn't just about remote work. Some teams are hybrid. Some have outgrown their office. Some don't need one at all but still need a place to gather, plan, and connect. And most People teams want to bring employees together without adding another major project to their plate. That realization became PopHQ. PopHQ helps teams come together through fully managed workplace experiences. Planning weeks, leadership offsites, team kickoffs, customer events. We handle every detail so your team can focus on being together. One of my favorite parts of this journey has been watching my kids get invested in it too. My youngest, Leo, has become an unofficial experience consultant with lots of thoughts on welcome bags, although I'm still not convinced his suggestion of including Robux gift cards will resonate with anyone over the age of twelve. More than anything, I'm grateful they get to witness this chapter. They've watched me spend years helping build other people's companies. Now they get to watch me build one of my own. Most people assume philanthropy at his scale means writing checks to existing causes. Biohub, the philanthropic venture of Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, just launched a world model of protein biology built to accelerate drug discovery. The model is built on the fourth generation of evolutionary scale modeling, learning from protein sequences produced by evolution and using the knowledge to understand protein biology. Biohub's head of science told Reuters the team has verified the model's ability and validated many of its predictions in both immune diseases and cancer cases. Both Zuckerberg's business and philanthropic efforts are now squarely focused on AI, with Meta committed to spending between $115 billion and $135 billion on building superintelligent agents, while Biohub focuses on frontier AI applied to biology, immune reprogramming, and disease prediction. The couple has committed over $7 billion to charity since 2015. The most interesting version of Zuckerberg isn't the one running Meta. The more interesting version of Zuckerberg is the one quietly building what might be the most consequential scientific research operation in private hands, funded by the profits of the social network everyone says they hate.

I built it after my father passed away. Like many people navigating loss, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with my grief. Building something felt better than standing still. Every board, every raised bed, every seed became a small step forward. It gave me a place to think, remember, and heal. Soon it will be overflowing with tomatoes, strawberries, beans, flowers, and more. Watching it thrive has been a reminder that growth often emerges from life’s most difficult seasons. The second is the Viva Garden. I built it this past winter after closing a significant chapter of my professional life and beginning a new one with Let’s Go Studio. Like any major transition, it came with equal parts excitement, uncertainty, and opportunity. Together, these gardens produce more than our family can use. What we don’t eat finds its way to our small farm stand, where neighbors are welcome to take what they need and leave what they can. What surprises me most is how much gardening mirrors leadership and life. You prepare the soil. You make a plan. You put in the work. And then you learn that growth happens on its own timeline. Some things flourish immediately. Some things struggle. Some things require patience, adaptation, and a willingness to keep showing up. Whether in our careers, our families, our communities, or our personal lives, we’re all building something. And like these gardens, we’re all still works in progress. That’s their time, not work time. The sacred hours between school and bedtime I constantly protect to put family time first. Our eldest is the ultimate enforcer. She’s not to be messed with, and dare anyone try to break the rules. I love it, honestly. Uninterrupted time, even if it means late nights on the laptop once everyone is sleeping. This weekend I messed up. I'd to take my laptop to a gymnastics class. I figured if I could use that hour to tackle the urgent work thing, then maybe I could stay offline for the rest of the day. I usually spend the entire class chuckling away to myself as our daughter refuses to give up on the thing she’s practising. I absolutely love watching her wee face as she waves up at me, smiling when she’s done something she’s proud of. But I missed her scaling this huge rope she was previously worried about. She had been trying to get my attention but my head was in my laptop. She hasn’t held it against me (they’re always so forgiving), but I know it’s going to get increasingly harder to have work-free days on weekends. Any parents figure out how to keep things moving over the weekend without completely ditching the rules you’ve set for yourself?

For the past 1️⃣2️⃣ years, I’ve learned something new every day—and I’ve never once been bored. I haven’t even had time to think about being bored… I’ve spent every day focused on a mission I deeply believe in: helping to build a better Internet. When I joined in 2014, we were ~80 employees with big ambitions. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of building our global communications organization and working alongside some of the smartest, most driven people in the industry. Fast-forward 12 years: from ~80 employees to surpassing an $80 billion market cap, with countless milestones in between. Somewhere along the way, I proudly held my newborn son in a Cloudflare onesie and added far more orange to my wardrobe than I ever imagined possible. 🧡 But what I’m most grateful for isn’t the growth, the milestones, or the numbers. It’s the people—past and present—who have challenged me, taught me, trusted me, and made this journey so meaningful. My incredible team… the teams we work with… our leadership… When you spend that much time building something together, you develop a deep appreciation for the people beside you—the ones who show up, navigate challenges, celebrate wins, and keep moving forward.✨🤓 Twelve years later, I’m just as energized by the opportunity ahead as I was on day one.
