Josh Rubin shared this"I came up using a hammer and nails, but now all I use is a nail gun." That was me, talking with Prasen Shelar, co-founder and CEO of Axari, about where the next generation of security leaders comes from. The juniors will never learn the hammer. Their goal was always to build the house. Prasen agreed: "You don't need to be in depth like understanding all these concepts to achieve the outcomes right now." What AI can't hand them yet is what he calls coordination intelligence, how an organization actually works. "That information, the coordination intelligence, is only in human head right now." From CEO Studio. #CEOStudio #Cybersecurity #AI

Josh Rubin shared this"This is a cigarette for the mind." That was my line. Ryan Eisenberg, CEO of Children's Health Council, ran with it. He pointed to C. Everett Koop, the Surgeon General who campaigned on the dangers of smoking in the 80s. "It took 20, almost 30 years before we saw the gains of that." Ryan sees the last Surgeon General starting the same journey: teen mental health, then loneliness, then parents, then social media and phones. "We're fundamentally changing the way we see the world." From CEO Studio. #CEOStudio #MentalHealth #SocialMedia

Josh Rubin shared thisThe CTO job right now comes with two audiences. "You have two audiences to please." Jeffrey Campbell, CTO at Sierra Interactive, manages up to a CEO and board who want everything faster, and down to engineers he's pushing onto AI tools while holding the line on code review. He sets tight deadlines for the team and buffers them on the way up. "There's a translation layer between both and neither gets the full story, unfortunately." I appreciated the candor. Josh Rubin shared thisCharlie Lin didn't sugarcoat who runs AI. "They're kind of the kings and dictators of this world and we're just playing chess and trying to catch up with them." He means the model makers and the chipmakers. Charlie co-leads the AI Foundry at Gen Digital, and his problem is the one every company below the frontier shares. You don't control what happens next. You control your timing. "If you're building something, you're too early or too late to it." How is your team timing its AI bets? Josh Rubin posted thisLast week Amazon opened my girlfriend’s garage...20 miles from where the delivery was actually being made. Some context: She doesn't have Amazon Prime, but I do, and sometimes get packages delivered to her house. I don’t have a smart garage at my house, but she does. Somewhere along the way, in the name of a frictionless experience, Amazon auto-enrolled me in their in-garage delivery program. So a package shows up at my house, and her garage, 20 miles away opens. It happened a few times over the course of a week. She had no idea why her garage was opening on its own, and neither did I until I dug through my email and found the enrollment notice. The fact that they buried the opt-out twelve clicks deep in the app means they knew this would be the fastest unsubscribe in history. Look, I get it. This is their answer to porch piracy. Can’t steal stuff if it's already in your garage. However by removing friction, they broke trust. Removing friction isn’t always the win we pretend it is. Sometimes the friction is the point. Hell, sometimes the friction is the fun bit. Under no circumstances do I want a stranger opening my girlfriend's garage.

Josh Rubin posted thisSilicon Valley doesn’t understand why the rest of the country doesn't get it. But here's what the AI pilled forget: the most universal part of the human experience is that everything is actually personal. Nobody gets anything…until it happens to them. I didn't understand love until it hit me the first time. I didn't truly understand grief until my mother passed away. And I didn't understand AI, not really, until last week, when I connected Claude Code to DaVinci Resolve for the first time. My video editing workflow didn't get faster, it 100x'd. A month of work collapsed into just a few days. For the first time I felt the power, the wonder, and the possibilities...and a fair bit of existential dread, because what did this all mean? I'm 150-plus interviews into CTO Studio, talking to people who live and breathe this stuff. I thought I got it. I didn't. Not until it was personal. I had to have my own oh sh*t moment. If that's me, where's the other 98% of the country? I'm in Sunnyvale Friday and Saturday filming the next CTO Studio and CEO Studio sessions. Couple slots left. If you’re a CTO, VP of Engineering, CEO, or technical founder…and you're living this and want to talk, ping me in the comments.

Josh Rubin posted thisI started my career in media as a video editor...and I was really really good. I could play Final Cut Pro 7 like a concert pianist. When I was in my editing flow state the world disappeared. It was an amazing feeling, and I produced a lot of great content...right up until Apple killed my instrument in 2017. Ever since then I've limped along using other video editing platforms but never came close to reaching the same level of technical proficiency. On the one hand I didn't need to...my career took me in a different direction, but I've always regretted not really knowing how to do the thing that I was once so good at. Last week I did 3 camera interviews of around 18 people. Looking at that terabyte of 4k footage that I knew would take my team several weeks to plough through forced me to try something new. So late on Saturday night I connected my newly downloaded Claude Cowork to DaVinci Resolve for the first time. Holy shit... A month of production work just got compressed into a week or less...and that's with me inventing a new work flow. It's game changing...and has actually made editing fun for me again. I'll report back soon.

Thank you to the Money20/20 team and the judges, to our team, and to our customers, who trust us with their risk decisions every day. When we started Oscilar, what bothered me was how fragmented the risk stack had become. Most institutions run separate point solutions for fraud, AML, credit and onboarding, and none of them sees risk end to end. Most of that stack was also built before meaningful AI advancements. Meanwhile, the attackers coordinate. A fraud ring works across products, channels and institutions at once, while the defense is spread across tools that can't see each other. Putting AI agents on top of that fragmented context only makes the blind spots faster. So we went back to first principles. We built a real-time, 360-degree view of each customer's risk, then a suite of AI agents that share memory of that view and learn continuously from the risk team's feedback on their recommendations. That's the real-time, AI-native risk platform we envisioned when we started Oscilar, and I'm delighted for our team to get recognized for building it. We're at booth 15061 until noon today. Stop by and say hi! #Money2020

It's been our #1 requested shift for nine consecutive months. The demand is year-round, and businesses are staffing like it. Just-in-time staffing isn't a workaround anymore. It's how businesses manage the expected and prepare for the unexpected.Josh Rubin liked this📦 Warehouses are hiring workers later than usual for this year’s holiday shopping season. Logistics companies and retailers are relying on technology to make new hires faster, as well as using gig workers and flexible scheduling to bring on workers as needed. The tactics allow businesses to hire later in the season to avoid bringing on too many employees--or too few--in an uncertain retail economy. Companies over the past few years “have increased their ability to hire quickly with a lot of automation on the hiring side,” said Andrew Challenger chief revenue officer at Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. “They’re able to push it back further into the season.” E-commerce fulfillment provider Paxon used to start staffing up around September to prepare for increased online sales. In the past few years, the company has instead brought on more temporary workers in late October or November, said Sabrina Wnorowski, the company’s chief human resources officer. “It’s about two weeks out that we will start hiring before the full volumes will hit,” Wnorowski said. “We find that week or two before is really the best sweet spot for being able to match that volume, getting the right available labor, but then also being able to get down to work when they come in the door.” Read more--including the hiring plans of UPS, United States Postal Service, GXO Logistics, Inc., DHL and Amazon--here: https://lnkd.in/eTFw28z7 ---- 👋 Hi, I'm Liz Young, and I report on supply chain and logistics for Dow Jones Risk Journal and The Wall Street Journal. The response has been incredible and today we’re publishing the first draft of the protocol at personalagentprotocol.org and announcing 35 new design partners. As personal agents take on more, our goal is simple: consumers have choice and control, and companies know when they’re dealing with an agent and who it represents. This draft is a starting point. We’d love for companies, developers, and personal agent builders to read it, give feedback, and help us build an open standard together.

Since then I keep running into founders who are building something just as hard with a fraction of the team. A few teams that are worth watching: * Nema, AI agents for defense systems engineering. Luke Kulik * Aurelius Systems, lasers that take drones out of the sky. Michael LaFramboise + John Marmadukee * Chariot Defense, power for the battlefield. Adam Warmoth * Scout AI, autonomy for ground vehicles. Colby Adcock + Collin Otis * Hypersonica, hypersonic flight out of Germany. Philipp Kerth + Dr. Marc Ewenz * Frankenburg Technologies, low-cost missiles for drone defense from Estonia. Taavi Madiberk * Rune Technologies, AI logistics for the warfighter. David Tuttle + Peter Goldsborough * Northwood, ground stations for the satellite boom. Bridgit Mendler * Overland AI, off-road autonomy for the Army. Stephanie Bonk * Picogrid, the software layer tying sensors together. Zane Mountcastle Did we miss anyone? Quick reality check from recent conversations in the association space. Teams are not pulling back on content. If anything, the ask is growing. But what I keep hearing is a shift toward quality and usefulness over just producing more for the sake of it. Content that shows real member value. Content sponsors can actually use. Content that keeps working after the annual meeting wraps. That is a very different brief than it was even a couple years ago. And honestly, it is a much better place for the work to be. Back at it this week. #Associations #AssociationMarketing #MemberEngagement #EventProfs #VideoStrategy #PondRippleMedia

This post from Leslie V Navarro caught my eye this week: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gyguXAKc I really enjoyed her take on the Golden Globes and the rise of the “Clip Economy.” I didn’t expect awards shows and B2B marketing to have this much in common—but the parallels are hard to ignore. What stood out most for me is how directly this applies to buying group reality. Marketing, Sales, and RevOps teams broadly agree that buying groups matter. But agreement isn’t the problem anymore. The real work is building operating models that systematically identify, engage, and earn trust with the dozens of buyers and influencers required to build consensus—internally and externally. A few takeaways that really resonated: 1. Stop Selling the “Broadcast.” Start Selling the Content Factory. The idea of webinars and events as content factories is spot on. In complex B2B deals, buying groups require multi-threaded engagement—relevant, role-aware content that doesn’t need to be fully personalized to be effective. The real opportunity? Treating the content and the conversation (questions, comments, reactions) as raw material. That’s where consensus signals live. AI makes intentional “splintering” of this content far easier—but it’s a tool, not the strategy. End-to-end AI content creation without human judgment risks volume without relevance. 2. Democratization Is the New Authority. Trust has shifted. Customers, partners, and industry voices often carry more credibility than brand messaging—especially in high-stakes decisions. Winning today means engaging beyond the formal decision makers and empowering advocates across the buying group to tell the story in their own words. Relationships aren’t optional—they’re the engine. 3. Meme-ability and AI Are Changing Shortlists—Fast. According to Forrester 89% of B2B buyers now use generative AI during procurement—researching, comparing, and building internal business cases. AI is shaping shortlists long before sellers are involved. That raises the bar: if your content isn’t clear, credible, and easily interpreted by both humans and machines, you’re invisible. Bottom line: Relationships still matter. Trust still matters. But trust today is built by being consistently relevant, credible, and easy to advocate for across the entire buying group—not by louder broadcasts or more content alone. Curious how others are adapting their events, content, and GTM models to this reality.

So that's a wrap on Podcast Movement for 2026, but the big question is: WHAT WAS THE ONE BIG TAKEAWAY? I made this infographic, which sums up the size and complexity of the opportunity for advertisers and brand partners as it is today. Podcasting has become less a distinct audio format and more a category of creator-led media that can live as audio, video, or both and on multiple channels all at once. The boundaries of podcasting are dissolving: the opportunity is getting larger and more complex, and the industry has to rethink what a podcast is. Maximum respect to Bryan Barletta and Tom Webster for delivering such as important event for our industry.
