Zoraida Rodriguez shared thisMore of this! ❣️Zoraida Rodriguez shared thisMy granddaughter Elizabeth is in 5th grade, in General Ed, and she's Autistic. School noise can be a lot for her. She has Loop earplugs that help, but for a long time she wouldn't wear them. She didn't want to stand out. She didn't want to be "different." Then her teacher, Ms. Kastl, put Loop earplugs on the back-to-school suggested supply list. For everyone. She talked about them in her class presentation and again at Back to School Night, in front of all the families. Elizabeth proudly spoke up and said she has Loops and likes wearing them. That's it. That's the whole story. One teacher normalized a tool that helps kids regulate, and a kid who used to hide something she needed got to be proud of it instead, in front of her whole class. This is inclusion done right. Not a special accommodation singled out, not a separate conversation in a separate room, just a normal item on a normal list that happened to make one kid feel like she belonged. Thank you, Ms. Kastl. Teachers like you change how kids see themselves. #Inclusion #Autism #Teachers #GeneralEd #Neurodiversity

Zoraida Rodriguez reposted thisZoraida Rodriguez reposted thisToday, #Roblox shared an ambitious plan to expand age estimation to all Roblox users who access our on-platform communication features by the end of this year, using a combination of facial age estimation technology and ID age verification. With this information, we’ll also launch new systems designed to limit communication between adults and minors unless they know each other in the real world. These added layers of protection will help provide users with access to developmentally appropriate features and content. We believe these changes are the future of the industry and will become best practice for social communication and gaming platforms. https://lnkd.in/e-GsXk9W

Zoraida Rodriguez reacted on thisZoraida Rodriguez reacted on thisAfter 17 years, I'm saying goodbye to a16z. 💙 I joined in 2009 as the 10th employee to build our college talent program from scratch. We had no brand, and most students on campus thought "Andreessen Horowitz" was a law firm. My desk was an IKEA table (horribly non-ergonomic) and lunch was frozen Amy's bean and rice burritos. Today, a16z is a global name, and I'm happy to report the lunches have improved significantly. When the Bio + Health fund launched, I moved into a Talent Partner role to build a life sciences network from the ground up, helped establish a16z in biotech, and nurtured relationships with industry-level technical talent drawn to healthcare. Throughout, I've had a front row seat to incredible growth, partnering with bold, innovative founders as they built and scaled their orgs. The most rewarding part? Advising talented people on their careers and making key connections into our portfolio including some who went on to found amazing companies. Full circle moments! The secret to 17 years? Great people and it's a27z! IYKYK. I laughed a lot, learned even more, and never wanted to leave. Thank you to everyone who was part of this ride. Thank you for the mentorship, guidance and friendships! I'm excited for what's next, and I'd love to stay in touch. Send me a message or connect with me here. 🚀 (View from our OG Menlo Park office)

Zoraida Rodriguez reacted on thisZoraida Rodriguez reacted on thisMost of us know that being a leader means being willing to ask the hard questions BUT being a leader also means being willing to answer them. Neither is easy to do. At a recent LinkedIn company all-hands, I asked a question about economic opportunity across generations. As we continue evolving our product, how do we hold ourselves accountable for ensuring we're creating opportunity for all members, not inadvertently widening gaps in who gets seen? It wasn't an easy question - and I knew that going in. But I truly believe in our mission and wanted to better understand how we are ensuring we don't inadvertently do that. What happened next reminded me of something I think we sometimes underestimate about leadership. Our CEO, Daniel, and our leadership team didn't shy away from the question. They acknowledged that there's always more work to do, helped distinguish between what we know and what members may be experiencing, and spoke candidly about how difficult it is to hear concerns that challenge the very mission we are all working toward. Our engineering leadership also addressed the question, bringing both a human perspective and a look at the work underway to help ensure our technology doesn't inadvertently deepen existing gaps. I've been at LinkedIn for nine months. I care deeply about our mission, and I'm also someone who believes that trust is earned through actions, not just words. So I was genuinely impressed by how the conversation was handled and how much action is being done towards our mission. It reminded me that courage in leadership isn't about having a perfect answer ready all the time. It's about being willing to engage with the question, even when the answer is complicated. It's about listening without getting defensive, being honest about what you know and what you don't, and being willing to keep doing the work. Because inviting people to speak up is only half the job. What you do when they DO speak up is where leadership really shows. --- Also, checkout LinkedIn Pulse to watch the various demographics and movement of skills happening in our world. REALLY interesting insights shared to our community!

Zoraida Rodriguez reacted on thisZoraida Rodriguez reacted on this“Disagree and commit.” This summer I read Mark Pincus’s book, Life at the Speed of Play. I also had the privilege of living a lot of it. I spent nearly six years at Zynga. One of the things I’ve always admired about Mark is the clarity of his leadership principles. Mark talked about this popular leadership principle: “disagree and commit.” We do it all the time throughout our lives. And many times it’s the right path. But…as Mark put it “What if I’m disagreeing because I’m right, and now I’m committing to clean up your mess (again) because you’re f***ing wrong?” I’ve been that expert witness. And one of the things I’ve learned is that proximity to power is not the same as proximity to truth. And having the authority to make a decision doesn’t automatically make it a good one. The best leaders I’ve worked with don’t just give people permission to disagree. They actually want to understand why someone is pushing back, particularly when that person has more context, more data, or more experience. There’s a difference between surrounding yourself with people who challenge your thinking and surrounding yourself with people who validate it. Commitment matters. But so does knowing when dissent is actually signal.

This is why I joined Roblox, and now I get to support the team behind it. Before I started, I read a write-up of a real incident that happened at Roblox (https://lnkd.in/g2Mkh22J). Most companies bury that stuff. Roblox owned it openly and shared what they learned. That told me everything I needed to know about the place. We have now released a blog post that many of you will find interesting, "How Roblox Gives AI Agents Access Without Giving Them Credentials,"(https://lnkd.in/gy4bnqdb) tackling one of the hardest problems in security right now and sharing exactly how we are doing it. Proud doesn't cover it, this is the team I get to work with every day. Worth a read if you work near identity, access or AI security.

I recently went back to job searching for the first time in 16 years. From the outside, it looked fast. Two months, three offers. Under the hood though, it had been years in the making. Every offer came from my network. The people who reached out weren’t strangers, they were contacts I’d stayed in touch with long before I knew I’d need them. Leaving my job didn’t start the process. It just accelerated it. That taught me something I wish I’d understood earlier: the best time to build relationships is when you don’t need anything from them. When I did enter active search mode, I stopped obsessing over outcomes and started paying attention to signals. How many people responded? How many interviews per week? Those numbers told me whether I was on the right track faster than any gut feeling. The last thing it taught me is harder to systematize: good things happen. It’s easy to spiral into pessimism mid-search. But the wheels turn. The right conversation happens. A door opens that wasn’t visible before. The job search is a lagging indicator of work you did years ago. Start now, even if you don’t need to.

One of my big takeaways from TechCrunch Disrupt: The more a founder says “AI,” the less compelling their pitch becomes. AI shouldn’t 𝘣𝘦 the vision. It should 𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 the vision. Founders who lead with “AI” often sound like they’re chasing a trend. Founders who lead with a problem worth solving sound like they’re building a company. AI is the brush, not the painting. #Startups #TechCrunchDisrupt2025 #AI #solopreneur

At Roblox, we’re building toward a system that can continuously improve how we assess age, combining signals, evolving models, and calibrating confidence rather than relying on a single moment of verification. That creates a more sophisticated safety architecture: multiple signals → model improvement → confidence assessment → targeted intervention → feedback loop The opportunity is to make safety more adaptive and more precise. Stronger protection where it’s needed, with less unnecessary friction for everyone else. It’s a technically complex problem, but the objective is simple: build safer experiences without compromising the experience itself. Kudos to the teams innovating on this at Roblox. https://lnkd.in/gaU_MSrf

Today we’re announcing some meaningful updates to our advertising business at Roblox — another step forward as we continue building the platform into a must-buy for brands looking to reach Gen Z and Gen Alpha. ✨ A few highlights I’m especially excited about: 🆕 Homepage Feature is now in beta — bringing brands directly onto the Roblox homepage and transforming traditional assets into immersive, native experiences. 🚀 Rewarded Video is officially at scale, live across 400+ experiences (including fan favorites like Grow a Garden and Dress to Impress), delivering ~95% viewability and ~90% completion rates. 🤝 We’re also making Roblox easier to buy, expanding our programmatic partnerships across the ecosystem. ⏩ And brands are already leaning in. 7 of the top 10 highest-grossing U.S. films in 2025 activated on Roblox, with major cultural moments like the Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup coming to the platform this year. Proud of the progress this team has made over the past year — and even more excited about what’s ahead in 2026. If you’re at CES this week, let’s connect. 👋 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gXfcBT66 #CES2026 #Roblox #Advertising #GenZ #ImmersiveAdvertising #FutureOfAdvertising

Just wrapped up a great week at GDC. One thing was clear across conversations with developers, studios, and platform leaders: industry interest in Roblox is accelerating. More teams are recognizing the scale of the creator ecosystem and the opportunity to build entirely new kinds of experiences. Equally exciting is how creators are adopting AI. Not as a trend, but as a set of tools that help them move faster, experiment more, and raise the quality bar of what small teams can build. And as always, one of the best parts of GDC was reconnecting with longtime friends and colleagues across the industry. The energy around where games and creator platforms are heading next feels very real. #gdc #games #roblox

🛡️ Proud to share a major stride forward: Roblox is now the first online gaming or communication platform to require facial age checks to access chat, establishing what we believe will become a new industry standard. This innovation supports age-based chat and limits communication between minors and adults. These new requirements will help us provide positive, age-appropriate experiences for all users on Roblox. We invite others in the industry to join us and follow our comprehensive appropach to help make the entire online world safer for children and teens. The rollout begins today with a voluntary age check period. The requirement will begin in select markets in early December and expand globally in early January wherever chat is available. Find all the details on this update here: https://lnkd.in/gn5WvMrE

Excited to share some big news from Roblox today! 🚀 We're incredibly proud to announce the launch of Expanded Facial Age Checks and Age-Based Chat on Roblox. We are the first major consumer platform to require age checks for access to communication, setting a new safety standard for the industry. This crucial update helps ensure an age-appropriate experience for our community by limiting conversations to similar age groups. A massive congratulations and thank you to the hardworking, dedicated product, engineering, operations, and marketing teams who are bringing this privacy-first, groundbreaking innovation to life. Onward to a safer digital future!

Cool presentation from Kushan Mehta on how we’re making AI more effective at Roblox with the Alignment Engine. He walked through how we ground models in our institutional knowledge, encode best practices, and create tighter feedback loops so AI systems actually improve over time instead of drifting. The focus was not just better outputs, but systems that learn what “good” looks like in a real engineering organization. Great to see him present to nearly 100 industry attendees. Even better to see that he drew the majority of follow-up questions. Lots of curious leaders are trying to figure out how to make their internal AI systems more reliable, aligned, and highly leveraged. The shift is clear. It is not about who has access to models. It is about who can align them. #AINative #Roblox #EngineeringLeadership

“My job is a constant re-architecture of myself.” That’s how David Baszucki, founder and CEO of Roblox, described the work of scaling from a four-person team to a company with nearly 400 million monthly users. In a recent View From The Top conversation at Stanford GSB, Baszucki was asked if he had any regrets after more than 20 years of building Roblox. His reply: “No. Lots of mistakes, lots of learning.” He went on to describe his career as “not just a business journey, it is like a personal journey. I think learning where to put your strengths, learning what you’re not good at, adjusting.” For founders growing a team, a product, or a market, the work of building the company is often the same as the work of rebuilding the leader. What part of your leadership are you re-architecting right now? Listen to the full episode: https://lnkd.in/dNfQU9Bu Image courtesy of David Baszucki
