Max Green reposted thisThe Business Development team at REI Co-op is growing, and we're hiring. This role sits at the front end of how the co-op grows. You'll source and evaluate strategic partnerships and new business opportunities, build the case, and help decide where we put capital and attention. Then you'll work across the business to make the strongest ones real. It's a great time to join the co-op. There's real upside, a great community, and plenty of challenging work where you can make an impact. https://lnkd.in/eqtYSvbY Susan V. Max Green reposted thisI’m excited to be partnering on the search for REI's next VP, Digital. This leader will run our ecommerce business end-to-end (strategy, P&L, experience) and play a central role in shaping where digital goes next for the Co-op. We’re looking for someone who can balance customer experience + commercial outcomes, lead incredible teams, and thrive in a highly cross-functional environment. If someone comes to mind—or if you’re curious yourself—feel free to reach out. Always grateful for this network. https://lnkd.in/g5Fvs_v7 #REIemployee #ecommerce #digitaltransformation #executivehiringVP, Digital in Seattle, Washington | REI (Recreational Equipment Inc.)VP, Digital in Seattle, Washington | REI (Recreational Equipment Inc.)

Max Green reposted thisMax Green reposted thisToday, we launched REI's annual impact report, one of my favorite moments of the year. This is our yearly portrait of progress, showing the impact we've made, the challenges we've faced, and the work still ahead of us. It reflects something core to who we are at the Co-op: the belief that business can and should create meaningful impact. At REI that belief isn't separate from the business; it's part of how we define success. The report is a reminder of what we can do together as we continue to focus on a healthy planet, expanding access to nature, and building an inclusive outdoors. Proud of the team and grateful for the community that joins us in this work. https://www.rei.com/impact

Max Green shared this🥹 Proud moment for the team — last week we launched our first hero campaign of 2026, and it's all about Ultralight Backpacking! 🚀 This campaign is a major step forward in how we show up for members, bringing together a cohesive full‑funnel Brand + Performance media campaign through cross‑functional partnership to deliver a more meaningful message to our members 🥾 Did I mention the creative!? https://lnkd.in/gsHZsenf While many many talented folks internal and external to REI deserve credit, I want to give a special shoutout to the talented humans across our Brand and Performance media teams. They've leaned in, taken smart risks, and helped give outdoor enthusiasts another reason to choose REI and a life outside. Alyssa Trisler, Nicole M. Max Green shared thisA couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to represent REI's marketing team at eTail, where I spoke on a couple of panels! 🎤 Panel 1: Unlocking Growth: Revealing What Really Drives Conversions Through Different Attribution Methodologies. The takeaway: “the one true model” for attribution remains a myth; world-class marketers triangulate to find truth with the best data available. 🎤 Panel 2: Crafting a Winning Media Strategy. The takeaways: it's full‑funnel, balancing short‑ and long‑term impact, and less about driving hype and more about clarity of purpose. 👏 Huge thanks to the organizers, moderators, and fellow panelists for all of the great education and entertainment! I'll definitely be back if they'll have me! #eTail #REI #MarketingAnalytics #MarketingAttribution #MediaStrategy #GrowthMarketing

Max Green liked thisMax Green liked thisAfter 7 years, last Friday I wrapped up my time at Yotpo. I joined Yotpo at 26, coming from a nonprofit and not knowing the first thing about SaaS. I still remember interviewing at the old Flatiron office and telling the hiring manager, “If you give me a chance, I’ll learn everything I need to succeed.” I had no idea just how much learning I was in for. Over the years, I went from a junior CSM learning the ropes → to taking on some of Yotpo’s most strategic accounts → helping launch new products like SMS → becoming a GTM lead for Yotpo Email → and eventually finding my passion for Sales Engineering. I’ll always be grateful to Asaf Frige and Tomer Tagrin. for building a culture that allows people to try new things, make mistakes, and get a little better a hundred times along the way. And to Robin (Lee) Broome, Gabe Goldstein, Adam Long, and Matt McCusker for being the leaders who, over the years, trusted me enough to place me in those opportunities, let me run 100 mph, and come back with a few lessons on how we could make things better. Most of all, I’m grateful for the people. There are far too many teammates, customers, and partners to thank individually, but I hope you know who you are. So I’ll end with one of my favorite memories before I get too sappy - giving a Hot Ones-style SMS QBR to the Heatonist marketing team in their Brooklyn test kitchen and having to chug a gallon of milk halfway through because I couldn’t handle the spice. That memory, and the countless other fun moments over the years, are things I’ll cherish forever. Thank you to everyone who was part of my 7 years at Yotpo. I’ll be cheering Yotpo on from the sidelines (hopefully crossing paths again as integration partners), and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Max Green liked thisMax Green liked thisFeels crazy after 7+ years to say that tomorrow is my last day at Klaviyo. Klaviyo is where I met my wife. Where I bought my first home. Where I was a part of my first IPO. Why I moved from SF to Los Angeles, then Colorado. Where I watched my team close their biggest deals, grow their families, and get promoted into dream jobs. Seven years means far too many people to thank in one post. To every Klaviyo, customer, and partner who made this chapter what it was: don't be strangers. I'll share more on what's next soon.

Max Green liked thisMax Green liked thisMore happy mail! 🥹💚 Crazy how 20 years really does fly by. There’s truly no other company I’d rather work for. When I started at REI at 22, I definitely wasn’t thinking about building a 20-year career. At 22, you’re thinking about your next drink, your next party, your next bad decision 😂 not where you’ll be two decades from now. But all the while, I was building something. A career that would last. Relationships that would shape me. Opportunities that would stretch me. And somewhere along the way, I grew up, too. I’ve become a better person, a better colleague, and a better leader than that 22-year-old ever could have imagined. Turns out, in a season of plenty of bad decisions, I made one really, really good one. 💚 20 years later, I’m still grateful I chose REI and even more grateful that REI kept choosing me.

Max Green reacted on thisMax Green reacted on thisAs I close the book on one chapter in my life, I can’t help but reflect on my last 2+ years within the Revenue Management Department at Alaska Airlines. From managing the State of Alaska portfolio, to implementing corporate contracts, to contributing as a member of the Fare Products & Awards Subteam, to everything in between, each experience has pushed me to grow in new ways. I’ve learned so much as an analyst, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people and opportunities that helped shape this journey. To my coworkers, mentors, leaders, and everyone I’ve crossed paths with at Alaska Airlines— thank you. Thank you for believing in me, challenging me, and supporting me from my start as an intern to my role as a full‑time analyst. I will forever be grateful for everything you’ve poured into my development. As someone who had never flown Alaska Airlines before 2023, and now logging over 360,000 flown miles, I can confidently say this airline has a bright future ahead. I’m excited to watch Alaska grow globally, and I will continue to be a cheerleader from the sidelines for an airline that has given me so much. With all of that said, I’m incredibly excited to share that I’ll be taking the next step in my career with United Airlines as a Senior Analyst – Pricing Implementation. This opportunity represents the challenge and growth I’ve been working toward, and I cannot wait to keep building my skills within Pricing and Revenue Management for Chicago’s hometown airline. A special thank you to the United team for their guidance throughout this process. I’m energized to get started and to contribute to United’s mission of “Connecting People. Uniting the World.”

Max Green liked thisMax Green liked thismy husband and I can tell you how Hermès makes a Birkin, how Google's ad auction works, and nothing about celebrity gossip. (take my word for it, really) And last night we met the two guys responsible for our two extra braincells! 😀 Got to meet Ben Gilbert and David Rosenthal at the Acquired meetup in SF last night. I started listening last year to Acquired while prepping for my ServiceNow interviews, found their episode with Bill McDermott, and got obsessed with every other 4-hour episode from that point on my husband Pramod Krishna and I are both nerds who are curious, and Acquired scratches that itch. they do extensive research so we don't have to, and somehow can synthesise all the data into both a two-minute ice breaker at networking events or interviews and a four-hour deep dive on a long drive. thank you for that, genuinely. the amount we've learned about how companies actually get built is a little absurd at this point. everyone in that room was asking about the research process, how they pick which companies get four hours, how they sit with a story that long before recording it. it was a room full of people who think business history is actually interesting. Loved the crowd! got a picture with Ben and David, AHH! if you like understanding how things actually work, start with the Hermès episode (it's also David Rosenthal's fav episode) Thank me later? #lifeatnow

I had a conversation recently with another global brand trying to grow their DTC digital business. One thing jumped out immediately: their org chart was built for retail, not for the internet. I've seen this pattern before, especially at long-standing retailers. Physical retail has borders, the internet does not (mostly). It's one internet, and customers experience your website as one thing, often in a single sitting. Many org charts don't reflect that. They're often built around geography or sometimes around protecting someone's scope over time. Anyone in your business who is touching digital channels needs to be in absolute lock step regardless of team or location. If not, it shows up in your growth ceiling. Before diagnosing the tactical stuff, it's worth asking a harder question first: has this org made structural decisions to protect any individual or team’s scope, at the expense and a single, seamless internet experience?

Kohl's didn’t just expand SEPHORA. They upgraded the operating system inside the building. Kohl’s is rolling Sephora into more stores because beauty is performing. Traffic is younger. Baskets are stronger. Margins are healthier. That’s the headline. The more interesting story sits under the floorboards… Sephora doesn’t just bring product. They bring Beauty Insider. Clienteling tools. SKU-level behavioral data. Associate tablets. Shade-matching history. Replenishment cycles. That is a very different operating system than traditional department store merchandising. So now you’ve got a shared box with layered infrastructure: 🧾 Two loyalty ecosystems. 📈 Two data environments. 🏬 One physical checkout moment. The real question isn’t whether beauty works… It’s who owns the customer graph when the transaction clears. Because once you can reconcile loyalty ID, media exposure, SKU-level inventory and margin, you’re not just running a shop-in-shop. You’re running a closed-loop retail media engine inside a legacy store. Tom Kingsbury has been clear about profitable growth at Kohl’s. Beauty supports that because the margin structure can absorb personalization tech and in-store media in a way denim never could. The visible win is makeup. The structural win is interoperable data. Department stores don’t need prettier fixtures… They need better data architecture. That’s what this partnership is really testing.

After the session, a handful of attendees told me it was one of the most educational talks they’d heard on social measurement. I hear that often after webinars and conference sessions, and it means a lot. We try to skip the hype and focus on what marketers can actually use. Frameworks, language for stakeholders, and real examples from destinations like Visit Anaheim. Value first, always.
