Matt Lindberg reposted thisMatt Lindberg reposted thisQuick question for print and sign shop owners: Do you produce metal in-house, or sub it out? Both answers work. If you sub it out, we can be the partner behind your name. If you produce it in-house, we can take the large, tiled, or specialty jobs off your plate. Either way, you get proofing, press proofs, color matching, and free file review before anything goes to your client. A real person looks at your file. Ready to do more with metal? Let's talk. Message us and tell us which one sounds like your shop. #PrintBusiness #SignShops #Partnership #metalprints #growyourbusiness

Matt Lindberg reposted thisMatt Lindberg reposted thisWhy metal prints belong in commercial spaces, not just homes. A restaurant, a hotel lobby, a medical office, a corporate hallway. These are high-traffic environments that destroy ordinary wall art. Canvas fades, glass cracks, frames get bumped and knocked crooked a hundred times a week. Metal solves all of it. The image is infused directly into the aluminum, so it won't fade, won't scratch easily, and wipes clean. No glass to break. And our mounting hardware holds the piece secure and flush to the wall, so it stays exactly where you put it, even in the busiest spaces. For businesses, that means art that looks gallery-grade on day one and still looks that way years later, with none of the maintenance. Swipe through a few we've produced. Details on our business program in the comments.

Matt Lindberg reposted thisMatt Lindberg reposted thisA reviewer who has spent years evaluating prints flew from California to our shop in Lexington to answer one question: are the prints he kept rating at the top actually that good, or was it luck? Alex Schult of PhotographyTalk spent a day on our floor, station by station, and then wrote the whole thing up. A few of the things he noticed: We make one thing. Not canvas, not acrylic on the side. Metal prints, full stop. He noted that when a shop narrows its focus like that, the work usually shows it. It's a room full of people, not unattended machines. Every print is finished by hand. The piece traces a single photograph from a bare sheet of aluminum all the way to a sealed crate. If you have ever wondered what actually happens between uploading a file and hanging it on a wall, check this one out! Full article in the comments. Worth the read.

Matt Lindberg reposted thisMatt Lindberg reposted this23 years into running this lab and it still means something to be recognized by the photography community that trusted us first. Photography Talk named Vivid Metal Prints their Lab of 2026. We started as the go-to production partner for professional photographers who wanted their work on metal before most labs even knew what dye sublimation was. That hasn't changed. If you're a photographer, print shop, or brand looking for a white-label manufacturing partner, please reach out. We can do something amazing together in 2026. Matt Lindberg liked thisTruly an honor to be nominated. I’m just flattered to be in the conversation alongside Anne and Thomas!Matt Lindberg liked thisWe’re pleased to announce the finalists for the Randy Kim Prize for Fiduciary of the Year, part of The Allocator's 2026 Prizes! Named in honour of the late Rainwater and Hilton Foundation CIO Randy Kim, the prize recognizes extraordinary actions in service of an institution’s mission and stakeholders. This year’s finalists are: ▪ Anne Dinneen, Chief Investment Officer, NewYork-Presbyterian Dinneen arrived at the $13B hospital system in May 2022 from Hamilton College, where the endowment had roughly doubled to $1.5B on her watch, and set about rebuilding an investment office. One judge called the result “a complete and total turnaround, both in team, back office, portfolio,” adding that she “put NYP back on the map” in front of a serious investment committee. Our panel agreed that what she did was not only capital allocation, but true fiduciary devotion. ▪ Brad Briner, Treasurer, State of North Carolina Briner, formerly co-CIO of Michael Bloomberg’s Willett Advisors, won the treasurer’s office in November 2024 and with it final authority over a $127B pension that had lagged for years. Soon he had persuaded the legislature to divvy up that power: the Investment Modernization Act, signed in June 2025, handed the portfolio to a five-member North Carolina Investment Authority board of directors, which he chairs. The fund has since crossed $150B, returning 12.4% in the fiscal year to June. Briner “has turned that place around and institutionalized it,” one judge said. “That’s a no-brainer, actually.” ▪ Thomas Lurquin, Chief Investment Officer, Kaiser Permanente Lurquin, a former managing director at Stanford Management Company, arrived at the $71.6B allocator in May 2022 and set about unwinding prior private equity commitments with massive sales to secondary buyers. When the Wall Street Journal cast one of them as a sign of cash constraints, Kaiser called the claim “simply not accurate.” One judge called it a “massive turnaround effort,” adding that Lurquin “has done great things.” The winner will be announced at the Alts 50 Awards Dinner at the iconic Rainbow Room on October 27, with the prize presented by Randy’s brother, Brian Kim. Matt Lindberg liked thisMatt Lindberg liked thisTwo organizations that have built Charlotte's startup ecosystem from behind the scenes are merging. Innovate Charlotte and LaunchCLT will combine into a single organization as of Oct. 1. The new entity will operate on roughly $500,000 a year and serve hundreds of founders annually. "This has been building for years," said Juan Garzón, executive director of Innovate Charlotte. "Today's announcement is the next step in a partnership that has already worked well for founders." Sustainability played a role in the decision, since running one organization costs less than running two. But Garzón pointed to a bigger driver. "Founders in Charlotte shouldn't have to work out which organization does what," he said. Read more about what the combination means from CBJ's Symone Graham: bit.ly/3VWoK1E

Matt Lindberg liked thisMatt Lindberg liked thisNC and SC each license asbestos contractors separately — here's why that matters. Beyond federal EPA rules, both North Carolina (through NC DHHS's Asbestos Hazard Management Program) and South Carolina (through SC DHEC) require asbestos contractors to hold state-specific licensing and certification. Why that matters for owners and GCs: 🔹 A contractor licensed in one state isn't automatically compliant in the other 🔹 State inspectors can request documentation of licensing at any point during a project 🔹 Using an unlicensed contractor can put the property owner, not just the contractor, at risk Always confirm state-specific licensing before work begins, especially on projects near the NC/SC border. Working on a project near the state line? Let's confirm your contractor's licensing is in order. #AsbestosCompliance #NCDHHS #SCDHEC #GeneralContractors #ConstructionCompliance
