Marc Langenohl liked thisMarc Langenohl liked thisServing as a board member for the Fulbright Association Chicago Chapter has been a tremendously rewarding experience. That’s why I am deeply proud to be reelected for another term. I have been aligned with the Mission —to extend the Fulbright tradition of education, advocacy, and service since my own Fulbright (Peru 2003-04), and I look forward to advancing our Vision —to be a catalyst for a peaceful and interconnected world inspired by international educational exchange. It is more critical today than ever. I look forward to working alongside Board President Adam F. and the rest of the board to drive actionable, long-term impact for our Fulbright community. Marc Langenohl liked thisMarc Langenohl liked thisI just spent a fantastic few days at my Columbia University graduate school reunion. First I visited my old Combustion and Catalysis research lab, spent time with the students, and was happy to see the hands-on spirit alive and well. It reminded me that struggling with experiments and fixing broken equipment is not just a frustration on the way to getting your degree - it IS the education. It is resilience building in real time. The ability to problem solve and to keep putting one foot in front of the other is probably the most valuable skill I learned in graduate school. I also attended some interesting lectures and tours: AI and continuous learning, the state of plasma physics today, Jodi Kantor on the difficult job market for new graduates followed by an uplifting ‘helping session’ for job seekers, and an update on what the Earth and Environmental Engineering department is up to in the mining and materials space- “the problem is not scarcity of resources, it’s scarcity of processing.” My brain and heart is full and I’m looking forward to next year!

Marc Langenohl liked thisMarc Langenohl liked thisSpent last 3 days at Rubrik FORWARD 2026 in Las Vegas, where I delivered the customer keynote on enterprise cyber resilience. A few observations stayed with me not from my own talk, but from the conversations afterward. First, the gap between having backups and being able to recover is wider than most CISOs realize. I lost count of how many architects came up to me and said "we have the tools but we've never written the runbook." That's not a tooling problem. That's a discipline problem. Second, the resistance to consolidation rarely comes from where you expect. The backup teams defend what they've built fair instinct. The unexpected allies tend to be internal audit, risk, and compliance. They've been carrying the question "what do we do if we get hit" for years, often without a voice at the architecture table. Find them. They're already on your side. Third, data protection is quietly becoming the foundation conversation in AI strategy. As enterprises adopt AI agents and SaaS expands the surface area, the recovery plan for the systems those agents touch becomes the recovery plan for AI itself. The agents may be stateless. The damage they cause isn't. What struck me most was how many of the practitioners in the room are wrestling with the same questions across industries, across geographies, across budgets. The shift from backup-as-insurance to backup-as-strategic-foundation isn't a vendor narrative. It's a real architectural inflection. Grateful to Puneet Dhawan and the Rubrik team for the partnership, and to Avinash Agrawal for the hours behind the scenes that made the keynote possible. #CyberResilience #EnterpriseArchitecture #DataProtection

As I start this next chapter, I want to thank the people and teams who have helped shape my career and leadership journey. To the entire Q’apel team, thank you for the opportunity, relationships, and experience. While my time there was brief, I had the privilege of working alongside an incredibly talented group of people, and I am grateful for the friendships and lessons that came from it. I’m also grateful to @John Lewis and @Jake Johnson for their trust and confidence in me. Their vision for the business, commitment to people, and passion for building winning teams made a lasting impression and played a significant role in my decision. Over more than 20 years in medical device sales and more than a decade in neurovascular leadership, I’ve learned that great results are built by great people. My passion has always been creating a culture where people are empowered to grow, lead, and succeed while delivering exceptional value to physicians, healthcare systems, and customers, ultimately improving outcomes for patients. I’m excited to return to the New York market, work alongside an outstanding team, and help build something special together. A special thank you to the New York team for the warm welcome and support during my transition, especially @John Boyle, @Jack Jarvis, @Mike Mastrosimone, @Mike Zilinski, @Dylan Mueller, @Briana Sierp, and @Suvin Song. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a talented group and look forward to what we can accomplish together 💪 💪 #Medtronic #Neurovascular #Leadership

It was really special to return to Hofstra and take a mix of math, data science, and computer science courses while completing my thesis with Dr. Eric Rowland. This August, I’ll be starting my Ph.D. in Mathematics at the CUNY Graduate Center. I owe so much of my success to Hofstra’s math department the faculty, students, and the community that has been built there. Hofstra’s math department is truly a hidden gem, and it has had such a meaningful impact on me, both academically and personally. I’m so thankful for the mentorship, encouragement, and opportunities I’ve had there, and I truly hope to stay connected with the department and community going forward.

Marc Langenohl liked thisMarc Langenohl liked thisYesterday was one of those “pause and take it in” days. X-energy ($XE) debuted on the Nasdaq. We closed up 27%, with a market valuation of ~$11.5B. A huge milestone by any measure. But what stayed with me wasn’t the numbers. It was standing in Times Square, looking around at the people who built this: our founder and Chairman, Kam Ghaffarian, and an exceptional group of leaders including J. Clay Sell, Steve Miller, Daniel Gross, Dinkar Bhatia,Dragan Popovic, Joel Duling, Laura Post Garcia and many others, and realizing just how rare it is to be part of something like this. At X-energy, we’re not just talking about the future of energy, we’re actually building it. Advanced nuclear reactors. Next-generation TRISO-X fuel. Real customers like Dow and Amazon. Real progress. Real firsts. And, importantly, a team that knows how to get hard things done. Personally, I didn’t take a straight path here. I started as an attorney, working with employees in some of their toughest moments. From there, I took a few bets—on startups, on new roles, on myself. And along the way, others bet on me—opening doors to lead, build and execute long before I had any business doing so. These experiences helped form the leader I am today and I couldn’t be more grateful. Moments like yesterday make you realize how much that matters. This milestone belongs to the team that built it—and the one that will carry it forward. I’m especially grateful to Carrie Brown, Anne Liles, SHRM-SCP, Tosha Davis, David Sloan and the rest of the X-energy HR team, for all their incredible commitment, professionalism and talent. The IPO isn’t the finish line. It’s a starting point. We now have the platform to do what we set out to do: bring clean, reliable, safe energy to the world—and unlock what comes next. Grateful to be in it, and even more excited for what’s ahead. #Ipo #nasdaq #xenergy #smr #advancednuclearenergy #EnergyInnovation #CleanEnergy #Leadership #womeninnuclear
