Karla Partilla liked thisKarla Partilla liked thisI've been seeing a lot of posts about recent massive layoffs, with people generously offering to help those affected through networking, job leads, and introductions. And that's wonderful to see. But here's something I think we tend to forget. Not every layoff makes headlines. Not every job loss affects thousands of people. Sometimes it's just one person. One person who suddenly loses their income, their sense of stability, and perhaps even a piece of their identity. One person who could use that same outpouring of support but doesn't have the visibility of a mass layoff behind them. I've been on that side of the equation, and I know how much a simple introduction, a phone call, or someone genuinely taking an interest can mean. Compassion and professional generosity shouldn't depend on how many people received a pink slip that day. Let's show up for the one person just as enthusiastically as we do for the thousands. Because to that one person, their layoff is massive. ❤️ #Layoffs #OpenToWork #CareerTransitions #NetworkingMatters #PayItForward #ProfessionalKindness #JobSearchSupport #PeopleHelpingPeople

Karla Partilla liked thisKarla Partilla liked thisYesterday was my 2-year wedding anniversary. We got married when I was 33 weeks pregnant with twins. We had just moved into a new house. I was running my business, albeit not that well given how unbelievably ill I was the entire pregnancy. Life was intense then. 2 years later we’re at a different kind of intense. In the process of selling and buying a new home. Raising nearly 2-year old twins, exhausted and constantly entertained. Running my own business, about to blow the last 4 years’ earning out of the water. Never underestimate the power of a couple of years with the right person.

Karla Partilla liked thisKarla Partilla liked thisCongratulations to Leah Pope on her new role as Chief Marketing Officer at Zeta Global! Leah has spent more than two decades helping some of the biggest names in enterprise technology tell their stories, from IBM and Datorama to Salesforce and, most recently, ActionIQ. Now, she's bringing that experience to Zeta Global, where she'll lead the company's global marketing strategy as it helps businesses put AI and data to work. Leah knows what great communication looks like, and we need more women like Leah bringing their expertise and perspectives to the highest levels of leadership. Mostly, though, I’m thrilled for Leah's new opportunity to turn complex technology into something people can understand and use. AI may be changing the tools, but great marketing still comes down to human connection, trust, and telling a story that matters. Leah, congratulations! I can't wait to see what you build next. When women lead, we all move forward. Subscribe to the FQ Newsletter for more #InsideTrack: https://lnkd.in/gnMKEyrT

Karla Partilla liked thisKarla Partilla liked thisFor 175 years, The New York Times has helped brands tell their stories through advertising. Now, the iconic media organization is enabling brands to prove their ads drive impact, with real audience insights rather than gut instinct. At the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF)'s Creative Effectiveness event, New York Times Advertising’s Tusar Barik sat down with Swayable’s James Slezak to discuss the impact of the iconic media brand’s creative testing program. The New York Times recently marked its 175th anniversary with a campaign reflecting on nearly two centuries of advertising, from a single block of text in 1851 to today’s documentary-style brand partnerships. As pressure grows to prove impact with data, testing ads with real people has become an integral part of how the publisher guides campaign strategy for brand partners. As Tusar put it: “It’s really important to us that we have quality advertising in our ecosystem.” And on where the industry is today: “Every marketer I speak to is facing increased pressure to think about how effective their ads are.” James added: “Part of our investment in building Swayable’s technology is about creating testing programs that get deployed routinely in standardized ways.” Big thank you to Tusar and the ARF for a great conversation—and a reminder that proving creative impact takes a combination of consistency, AI automation, and human insight. #ARFCreative #Swayable #NYT #Marketing

64% of consumers feel overwhelmed by the amount of content they see each day. The takeaway from Shutterstock's 2025 Creative Impact Report? Audiences don’t want more — they want meaning. The most effective brands are cutting through the noise with focused, emotionally resonant creative that earns attention rather than fights for it. Fewer messages. Sharper storytelling. Real connection. That’s how creativity builds impact. Check out the full report here: https://lnkd.in/e3F2GWyq

I sat down with Emma Glicklich at Grubhub NYC to talk all things marketing measurement, building a testing culture within a large organization, and how to work with CMOs or CFOs who may be concerned or skeptical about the idea of holdout experiments. Emma is brilliant – thoughtful, strategic, and practical about the realities of running paid media within an enterprise – and laser-focused on optimizing for better decisions. "Part of the testing culture that we're trying to build at Grubhub is that you learn as much from a test that doesn't work as a test that does work.... any tests where you have learnings is a positive, and a win for our team."

This morning at Tribeca X, our Vice Chair David Sable moderated a conversation on storytelling across generations with Antonio Lucio, Global CMO & CCO of PayPal, and actress, writer and producer Irene Lucio. As technology transforms how stories are created and shared, one truth endures: the human need for stories that move us. From Broadway to brand-building and keynote stages to emerging voices, the discussion explored what happens when one generation passes the torch to the next, and why the future of storytelling will be shaped less by algorithms and more by authenticity, cultural resonance and human connection. Swayable has appointed Jenny Wall as Chief Growth Officer and Brian Lawrence as Chief Revenue Officer. Wall brings more than three decades of experience across marketing, media, brand, and technology, including leadership roles at Hulu, Gimlet, VideoAmp, Netflix, and HBO. Lawrence brings more than 20 years of enterprise technology experience across sales, customer success, partnerships, and solutions engineering. The appointments come as generative AI increases the volume of creative content marketers can produce, creating greater demand for ways to measure which ideas influence consumer behavior before significant media and production investments. Swayable uses experimentation and causal measurement to assess creative effectiveness.
