Joy Hawkins shared thisRank Tracking Is Giving You The Right Data - but Leading You To the Wrong Conclusions... Ever had a client message you "I just searched and I can't find us" while your report says they're ranking fine? AI local packs don't behave like the regular 3-pack. Every search is basically a roll of the dice, and when we tracked one for a week, the businesses and the order shifted almost daily. Even the AI-written snippets changed. Colan Nielsen and I break down why one search doesn't prove much either way and what we're measuring instead. Have you seen this with your own clients? Tell us in the comments 👇

Not all content moves the your website in the right direction. And for church capital campaign firms and church lenders wasting budget on the wrong content is one of the most common reasons organic traffic stays flat. Here is the standard every piece of content on your website needs to meet. Does it target something church leaders are actually searching for Does it lead to more traffic, more visibility or more leads Does it align directly with what your business does and who you serve If the answer to any of those is no it should not be on your website. Generic content that does not align with the goals of your business is not just useless. It sends a confused signal to search engines about what your website is actually about. Here is where I would focus first. Look at the pages already on your website. Most church capital campaign and church lending websites have pages that have not been touched in years. And a lot has changed since those pages were written. New information about capital campaign strategies. Updated church lending requirements and rates. Links to other resources and pages you have published since then that are directly relevant. All of it could be added to those existing pages right now. Here is why updating those pages matters beyond just keeping information current. Search engines actively look at whether websites are maintaining and updating their content. A page that has not been touched in three years signals that the website may not be the most current reliable source on that topic. A page that gets regularly updated signals the opposite. This website is active. This business is paying attention. This content is worth showing to church leaders searching for this information today. For a church capital campaign firm or church lender every dollar of content budget should be working toward one outcome. More church leaders finding your website. More of them seeing what you offer. And more of them reaching out because your content answered exactly what they were searching for. Update the pages you already have. Add new information. Link to related content you have published. And make sure everything on your website is earning its place by leading somewhere that matters for your business.

I’ve noticed something interesting... (*Reads on. This is NOT interesting.) The folks I work with fall into two camps: 1. The business that never tried SEO 2. The business that did, but got disappointing results The first camp is the easiest to deal with. I get to tinker with websites that are blank slates—a fresh SEO canvas. Most of these business owners aren't SEO savvy, so it's clear what language I use and how I present the issues and solutions. The second camp is way trickier. These business owners have tried SEO, but it hasn’t worked. They may know why, but they often don't, so they're begrudgingly trying again. In this scenario, clients are sometimes familiar with basic SEO, so explaining gets interesting. As I’ve said before, I don’t know what folks know, so I assume they don’t know anything—not in a condescending way but in a way that guarantees they understand everything. The second camp is a bit sensitive. Whatever they paid to have done hasn’t worked, so they're rightly pissed off. SEO can be very emotive (apparently). These clients experience all five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance. And once they accept that SEO isn't the problem, something else is, we can put things right. If any of this sounds like you, DM me. Or take a look at my off-colour emails: https://lnkd.in/evNtixKk

You're tracking your SEO metrics religiously. But are you actually using them to convert patients? You know your rankings, your traffic, and your bounce rates, but here’s the problem- you're not connecting that data to the stories affluent patients need to hear before they book. That's not SEO strategy. That's just reporting numbers. Healthcare SEO becomes a conversion engine when you turn metrics into compelling narratives. Here's how: Search data reveals the exact questions your ideal patients ask before making decisions. Use those insights to create stories that address their deepest concerns and position you as the answer. High-intent keywords signal when someone is ready to book. Build conversion-focused content around those terms that tells the story of transformation, not just clinical details. Analytics show you which SEO-driven pages bring in your highest-value patients. Replicate that storytelling approach across your entire site to attract more of your ideal clientele. Performance data identifies where potential patients drop off. Strengthen those weak points with persuasive narratives that guide them from research to consultation. The most successful healthcare practices don't just rank well, they use SEO insights to craft stories that speak directly to affluent patients at their decision-making point, addressing objections and building trust before the first call. Your SEO should be more than a traffic report, it should be the framework for stories that convert.

Pretty wild start to the week in SEO/GEO world. UCP release and after catching a breath...the Gemini + Apple partnership dominates headlines. I've said it from the beginning and won't change unless convinced otherwise. Google will win the AI race. Aside from Google, I think what Apple has been doing (or lack thereof) is a display of pure focus and resilience. They didn't rush to sink massive capital into every early AI bet. They waited and partnered at the right moment, with the right vendor, while keeping leverage, UX, and distribution in their control. Anyways, I'll continue to see how all this plays out as I'm sure you all are too. But for now? - If you're tracking AI visibility, you better have Gemini & AIO in the mix... - Read thru Google's UCP guide - Keep an eye on UCP plugins race - Keep on testing! #seo #geo #seoagency #gemini #googleucp

SEO isn't what it was 3 years ago. Half the terms CMOs need to know today didn't exist in 2022. AEO. GEO. Query fan-out. LLM visibility. AI overviews. If these don't sound familiar, you're already behind. Search has fragmented. Google is still dominant, but your customers are also searching on ChatGPT, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Amazon. And the rules for each are different. Traditional SEO focused on keywords and backlinks. The new game is about: → Getting cited by AI, not just ranked by Google → Structuring content so machines can pull it → Showing up everywhere your buyer looks I put together 20 terms every leader should know in 2026. Some are familiar. Some are new. All of them are important. * * * I talk about the real mechanics of growth, data, and execution. Follow along if that's what you care about.
