Jeff Fenster shared this💸 Most founders avoid the hard questions when raising capital. I tackle them head-on. Here’s the truth: When you’re raising money, the worst thing you can do is try to look perfect. Investors don’t want a polished pitch—they want a clear plan and a real person who can navigate chaos. So I do something different: I lead with the hard stuff. The risks. The gaps. The uncomfortable truths. Because when I bring up the red flags first, I control the narrative—and I turn perceived weaknesses into proof of leadership. It’s not about selling. It’s about building trust by being transparent when it counts most. Raising capital is part numbers, part vision—but mostly credibility. And credibility is earned when you don’t hide from the uncomfortable. 👉 Ever had to pitch under pressure? Drop your best lesson or hardest moment below. Let’s sharpen each other. #CapitalRaising #Founders #VentureCapital #StartupTips #Transparency #Leadership #FundraisingStrategy

Jeff Fenster shared thisNatural talent might get you started—but it won’t keep you ahead. After working with dozens of high performers, I’ve noticed a pattern: The ones who weren’t naturally gifted often build the strongest work ethic. Why? Because they had to. They train the muscle of consistency. They push through when others wait for motivation. That’s the trait that compounds—and outpaces talent long-term. 💡 In business, discipline is your real competitive edge. #Leadership #BusinessGrowth #DisciplineOverTalent #SuccessHabits #Entrepreneurship

Jeff Fenster shared thisMy vision for the future? Simply put it’s to disrupt industries, and build something bigger than myself. 🚀 From scaling to everbowl 30 states to eyeing all 50 and beyond, it’s about putting the right teams in place and creating opportunities. I thrive on the process, on shaking up markets, and proving what’s possible—even in industries where I have zero experience. Whether it’s scaling everbowl or disrupting entirely new industries with WeBuild, the process of solving problems, creating value, and pushing boundaries keeps me driving for more. #Entrepreneurship #VisionaryLeadership #Everbowl #ScalingBusiness

Jeff Fenster shared thisThinking of buying a franchise? Here’s how to narrow down your search: Buy an everbowl :) Kidding, but in all seriousness this is an area where many new franchisees really have to take into consideration what they are looking for and what they want to get out or the franchise because though Mcdonald’s may have a 99.9% chance of success, there’s no room to go buy 100 new units.... meaning less upside potential. With any new franchises there’s going to be more risk involved but has the room for all the upside potential! At the end of the day that best franchise is the one that suits your goals and dreams best. Ask a lot of questions, do diligent research, and you may just find a model that could potentially change your life!

Jeff Fenster shared thisTurning Mistakes into Strategy: In my digital marketing agency, we intentionally misspelled words in sales copy to captivate readers’ attention. Spotting those errors made them feel intellectually engaged and more likely to read on. What seemed like bad spelling was actually a positive strategy. Jeff Fenster liked thisJeff Fenster liked thisNot everyone's built to be an entrepreneur—and that’s completely oka I interviewed Jeff Fenster — a guy who's built businesses most people only dream about — and he shared some incredibly practical advice for almost 2 hours. We talked about what it actually takes to become really successful, at what point people usually give up, and the mistake early in his career that taught him everything. Whether you're trying to build something big or just get better at what you are doing — this one's worth your time. Here's the full conversation: https://lnkd.in/dnXjBZqe

Jeff Fenster liked thisJeff Fenster liked thisFourteen years ago I borrowed $2,000 from my roommate Nick, at 25% interest, and started selling sunglasses out of a backpack. Today I'm closing the Blenders chapter. On paper, I wasn't the kid you'd bet on. My resume at the time included getting fired from a sports marketing tour and a 7-minute stint at GNC that ended with me walking out and buying a Cali burrito with my last $8.62. That was my starting line. I sold shades one pair at a time on the beach. On launch day I thought we'd sell 300 pairs. We sold 8. I drove home thinking, "This is going to be a lot harder than I thought." That feeling never really went away. A few years later we pitched Shark Tank and got rejected. Two weeks later, a show nobody had heard of called West Texas Investors Club picked us up instead. We got zero ROI other than one of the best stories of the journey. I'll take that trade. Then the business caught FIRE. We went from $7 million to $30 million in a single year. Five years earlier I was selling shades out of a backpack. Now I was trying to lead a company growing faster than I ever imagined. I thought I'd be running Blenders for the rest of my career. I bet my whole adult life on this thing. And it worked. It also nearly broke me. Not because I stopped loving it, but because I loved it too much for too long. Along the way I got sued. I made bad hires. I trusted the wrong people. I made mistakes that became expensive lessons. There were days I felt unstoppable and plenty more where I felt one decision away from losing everything. Over time, the brand stopped being something I built and started becoming who I was. When the company won, I felt worthy. When it struggled, I took it personally. That might be the biggest lesson I'll carry with me into the next chapter. To Blake, who was in the trenches before anyone knew our name. To Nicholas, who bet on a 23yr old with a crazy idea and nothing to back it up. To every teammate who poured themselves into this brand, especially the ones who stuck around through the hard years, not just the good ones. To Safilo, thank you for betting on us. On me. You saw something in a loud little sunglasses brand from San Diego and gave it a global stage. I'll always be grateful for the opportunity and proud of what we built together. And to every customer who ever chose Blenders when you didn't have to, THANK YOU. You didn't just buy shades. You gave a backpack business a chance and changed so many lives with it. Here's to the next wave. And I’m already paddling for it;) CFish //

17 years at Popbar, and we still weighed every single gelato pop. ... People called it micromanagement. I called it protecting the brand. The Brutal Truth: If your product doesn’t taste identical in New York, Los Angeles, and Lisbon, you don’t have a franchise. You have a collection of similar businesses eroding your reputation. Real scale isn't about being a "hero" who fixes every bad batch. It’s about building a machine that prevents them from ever happening. If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. Struggling with consistency? Let’s talk. #Popbar #Operations #Franchising #Scaling #123Executive

We’re proud to spotlight Brink client EDERRA and founders Vladi Delsoglio and Ruchit Mehta on their recent feature on FOX 5 San Diego (KSWB-TV)! 🎥 EDERRA was born from a deeply personal journey. July 1. That's the SB-68 deadline. Every restaurant chain and many food service organizations operating in California has to disclose the major allergens on every menu item, or face real exposure. Most operators know it's coming. Far fewer are properly ready. Knowing the law is the easy part. The operational lift is where it breaks down: → Menus across print, web, apps, kiosks, and delivery platforms → Modifier and build-your-own combinations → Supplier data that can take months to verify → Proving your data was accurate the moment a dish was served If you haven't started, the clock is now working against you. #SB68 #FoodSafety #RestaurantCompliance #FoodService #FoodAllergy

Two weeks ago I sponsored the SoCal Grocery Run at HiTouch Libations DSD. Spent the night at our table talking to founders and buyers. My takeaway: startups don't look like startups anymore. The branding is polished, the product is market ready, the pitches are dialed. The bar just to show up has risen. So the separation is what you bring to the category. Are you disrupting a legacy product or filling a white space? Why do people need this? Why does the buyer need it on their shelf? Where do you start, and where do you want to get to? The edge has always been product market fit. Good strategy is what gets buyers listening. Were you there? Curious what stood out to you. EasyOps Startup CPG Czar Daniolco

TraXXable

How do you build a workplace your employees would call excellent? Start by making their day easier. TraXXable brings modern self-checkout markets directly into the workplace, giving employees convenient access to fresh meals, cold drinks, and favorite snacks without getting in the car or waiting for a delivery. Unlike traditional vending, we don’t install a machine and disappear. We tailor every market to its users, listen to their requests, regularly introduce new products, and provide responsive local service. Employees save time. Employers add an amenity their people actually use. Everyone gets a better break. Congratulations to tonight’s honorees and to the San Diego employers who continue raising the bar for their teams. We’re proud that TraXXable can play a small part in making the workday better. #WorkplaceExcellenceAwards #EmployeeExperience #SHRMSanDiego #TraXXable

We are thrilled to share that Everything Branding has acquired Darlington Marketing, and we couldn't be more excited about what this means for our clients, our team, and the brands we get to serve together. Cyndi Darlington and her team have spent 15 years building the leading food, grocery and restaurant marketing agency in Southern California. Their client relationships speak for themselves —New Leaf Community Markets, Lazy Acres Natural Market, Broken Yolk Café, Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks, and so many others have trusted DMC for years because of the quality, consistency and genuine care they bring to the work. This acquisition brings together Everything Branding's integrated PR, paid media, digital strategy and AI-driven brand visibility with DMC's deep expertise in strategic marketing for grocery, CPG and restaurants. Together, we're building a full-service agency that can serve brands at every stage of growth – from local operators to national and international companies. This week on Tacos & Tech, we’re back inside the 2026 SDSU San Diego Angel Conference - Angel Academy Session 3. A panel of operators-turned-investors gets candid about what actually happens when you start writing checks. The conversation covers first investments gone wrong, the founder who introduced herself as “just a mom” and outshone every credentialed CEO in the room, and why San Diego’s open network creates a different kind of deal flow than anywhere else. If you’ve been on the fence about angel investing - or you’ve already lost money and want to know what to do with that lesson - this is the episode. New episode live now. https://lnkd.in/gJ8KvB3T
