Jean Go shared thisJean Go shared thisAlright, let's talk about stairs, elephants, and the nature of truth -- I promise this is also super relevant to #gamedevelopment and more. For context, I lead one of the game teams at Super Evil Megacorp, and this clip is from our most recent weekly update video for our all-remote team. What are your favorite parables, analogies, or anecdotes for game making? The team: Jean Go Kevin Michael Johnson Brooke Costa #games #gameindustry #gamedevelopment #gaming #videogames

Jean Go shared thisLegion TD 2 full launches on the 1st of October. As a 4-man dev team, we managed to sell 150,000 copies during the Early Access alone and hope the game will reach more players soon. I won't speak for the art since I'm the only artist in the team (haha), but I CAN vouch that this game is really fun --- it's all I play now these days. :P Check out this short trailer I got to work on. I was involved in making decisions for every aspect of it. Hope you like it. #videogames #gameart #indiedev

Jean Go liked thisJean Go liked thisHad an idea last night to test out the Atlas Splitter node and make this paint stroke copper material. It's a similar method that I used to do back at Riot for some of our R&D but a lot simpler. Really like the way it came out for a quick hour or so test. More here: https://lnkd.in/gtk2GaDM

Jean Go liked thisJean Go liked thisI won my copyright appeal. The Luxembourg court has ruled that Jeff Dieschburg infringed upon my copyright when he used my work without consent. Using a different medium was irrelevant. My work being 'available online' was irrelevant. Consent was necessary. This win means a lot—not just for me but also for artists and photographers everywhere. It’s a reminder that copyright protects individuals from those that try to profit off our work without consent. It reaffirms that our work being online doesn't mean we give up our rights. For 2 years I’ve been harassed for fighting this because of my gender, my race, my being a photographer. Being told as a Chinese person I deserve this, that as a woman I'm trying to take the money of a man, even though he stole from me. My home address was doxxed, I was told they'd put me in jail, that I’d kill myself soon. I lost out on work because of how it ate away at me. But I didn't want to give up. Maybe it's a stupid ideal, but I think if we can, we should stand up to bullies who believe they can get away with anything because they know people can't fight back. So this is for the young me who couldn’t fight for herself, and for everyone else who's felt the same, that they couldn't challenge what seemed terrifying, powerful, and unjust. I know that as individuals, it may not seem like there's much we can do. But even if we are alone, the act of many individuals fighting for what's right, over time, may one day be collectively enough to make a difference in this world. So next time you see someone do this to another artist and claim that: - "using a different medium is transformative and not copyright infringement", or - "this was found on the internet so it's free to use!" Show them my case. Because they are wrong. I want to thank Luxembourg and its judicial system for upholding copyright protection for an individual, especially in time of AI where our rights seem to be quickly eroding. And to my lawyer Vincent Wellens and team at NautaDutilh—thank you for your strength and for fighting to protect the rights of artists. I’m grateful for the incredible kindness of the people of Luxembourg and everyone around the world. Your help and support meant a lot when my world was breaking apart. I sincerely hope that more of the world will look towards Luxembourg and remember that copyright is what allows individual such as myself to work as an artist. Because without knowing that I can own what I create and be protected to make a living off my work—I could never have chosen this path. It's hard to find the right words after two years of suppressing what I can say or post. I'm still processing the fact that I can finally start to have my life back now. I hope bit by bit, I can return to how much I used to create and share. Thank you. Full post: https://lnkd.in/g-HT9Qfb

Jean Go liked thisJust an immense volume of work with some serious dedication to getting each one to fully represent each character. So proud of the team on these.Jean Go liked thisHugely proud to confirm that Wild Blue, in close collaboration with Riot Games, created 165 portrait paintings; one for each and every champion in League of Legends. Thank you to the Riot team of Alexander Quach, Anna Maystrenko, Stella Chen YuYu, and Anhelina Cherniak who poured a tremendous amount of time and effort into their mission of creating a complete set to make sure dedicated fans of every champion were served all at the same time. Champion likeness is a critical and high value component of Runeterra IP. Being trusted to create a uniform set of close-up portraits is a big deal to me and to the WB team. Especially having been immersed in every iteration of Runeterra since 2009, this project is a meaningful feather in our cap. I hope everyone enjoys them. https://lnkd.in/g_CE5qvj #noai #illustration #gameart #gamedev #leagueoflegendsLeague of Legends - Champion Illustration Icons, Wild Blue StudiosLeague of Legends - Champion Illustration Icons, Wild Blue Studios
