Jaspreet Singh posted thisMost data resilience players now pitch "assume breach," arguing that AI will inevitably breach production and that resilience is critical. Which is true, but I do wonder why agents wouldn't breach the backup software? When most backup is simple Windows-based software that uses the same IDP and ships more vulnerability patches than features. Most ship with poor guardrails on what an "authenticated admin" can do ... and yet they pitch "assume breach". Sigh. The shift to security in the world of AI has to think beyond basic data air-gapping. AI has no respect or regard for data air-gapping. Give Mythos browser access, and it won't take more than 10 mins to breach any backup software. The dicussion has to move towards deep observability, active governance, segregated controls, and evidence vaults. This is as much about customer operations and controls. Druva takes this very seriously and actively invests in AI Defense, responsible disclosures, and active data sharing. And we are far from completion.

Jaspreet Singh shared thisContinuing the journey to build Dru North (Internal AI platform). The focus has been to (a) automate a process end-to-end (b) give certain roles 20% productivity boost. We are very early in our progress. And yet, It's probably the most-used (agentic) software internally now. - 15+ agents (orders, SME, sizing, rfi, proposals...) - $400/mo cost to run. - Over 500+ hours/ mo effort saved (non-eng.), - Reduced $300k/year in SaaS contracts (RFI, sizing, proposals) - We expect usage to triple every quarter. Big kudo's to team Druva , esp. David Gildea, Keith Lutz, Jeffrey Chen, Brian Hunt Mark Tacy... PS: yes, the music is horrible... and that's the irony of the whole thing w/ AI.

Jaspreet Singh posted thisUnpopular take, so let’s see how many of you disagree :) The cybersecurity industry is obsessed with tracking the raw "intelligence" of frontier models. I am not sure that’s the right metric. A leading LLM will lose to an elite red team member every single time. Models today lack entropy, novelty, street smarts, etc. (Same 10 dad jokes .. etc.) Frontier intelligence isn't the threat. The harness and the economics of scale are. I tried to replicate the harness behind the Hugging Face attack (Agent contract protocols, hierarchical planning, message boards, persistent memory, blackboard state, etc.) and combined that with basic tool interfaces (Nmap, Burp, debuggers, CVE database, etc). A well-orchestrated agent swarm can burn through 20M–30M tokens an hour. With modern token economics, intelligent caching, and multi-tier routing (cheap scouts triaging tool output, reasoning models reserved for payloads), running an autonomous offensive swarm costs less than $1,000 an hour. Basically, a full scan of Druva’s 2000 device network under $2000 !! Complete the equivalent of 3–4 weeks of manual recon before an analyst finishes their first cup of coffee. An attacker doesn't need “superintelligence” to breach an organization. They just need an autonomous swarm of 500 tireless, junior-level agents relentlessly probing every crack in the perimeter until one gives. The asymmetry is already here—it’s an infrastructure problem, not a model benchmark problem. And the even bigger problem is that it’s not clear how AI can be used effectively for defense. Offense is all about probability and parallelism, and defense is precision and latency.

Druva now shows reverse adversarial graphs of all actions taken by threat actors or agents within identity systems and how those actions impact applications. Stitching together this time-series data - helps investigate and recover fast. Cloud-based backup is one of the rare workloads where all the enterprise data, configs, and perms come together. They want outcomes. They want access to their data - fast, secure, and uninhibited. Druva #AI-Resilience #MCP ... Actively used by 100s of customers and partners. And for the first time, the FRQs are losing :)

To really solve the problem, you really have to
(1) separate the operating environment of the backup (MSP/ SaaS etc.)
(2) bring deep observability & tracing capabilities to your resilience stack.
(3) Really improve reliability through active monitoring. A failed backup could be an operational issue or a security threat.
(4) Integrate deeply; SIEM, MCP, XDR etc.
Putting backups on the same network, IDP, or application stack is the most foolish thing ever.
