Eric Korman shared thisAnyone who knows me well, knows that I love coffee. And while espresso/americano is my go to, sometimes you just want a delicious cup (multiple?) of drip coffee, no? And maybe you like milk in it, or one of the dozen or so milk alternatives now available. But what you probably don't want in it is microplastics - you get enough of those already. Yet it's so hard to find a reasonably priced machine with all plastic-free parts where it matters, and that brews a wonderful pot of drip coffee. Until now of course! ;) Congrats to Jordan Nathan and the whole team at Caraway. So excited to get my new machine shortly. And yes, for thosewodnering, I am a small investor in Caraway. More please Jordan!Eric Korman shared thisTHE CARAWAY COFFEE MAKER IS FINALLY HERE. ☕🚀 Today is the biggest milestone for Caraway since we launched the company, and it’s hard to put into words what this one means. I started Caraway in 2019 after getting sick from fumes after accidentally overheating a pan. While cookware was where we started, the vision was never to build just a cookware brand. In early investor meetings, I actually hid the fact that I wanted to build an entire portfolio of better-for-you home goods, including appliances, because I knew investors wanted to hear that we were focused on one category. Cookware was always the foundation, but the ambition was always much bigger: to create the first generation of non-toxic homes. It’s why we called it Caraway Home. Coffee was one of the categories we identified back in 2020. The opportunity felt obvious. Coffee is such a huge part of our everyday lives, yet in most coffee makers, near-boiling water travels through plastic components before it reaches your cup. At the same time, coffee makers have somehow become more complicated, with more screens, settings and buttons. And most of them aren’t exactly something you'd be proud to display on your counter. Our approach was simple: brew coffee, not plastic. Building it was anything but simple. It took 5+ years, 200+ iterations and 10+ pending patents. At one point, three years into development and roughly 75% finished, our original factory partner dropped the project because it had become too difficult. We nearly lost the entire project and could have walked away. Instead, the team started over. What came out of that is a Coffee Maker we designed completely from the ground up with no plastic touching the brewing process. A stainless steel water path, showerhead, brew basket and reusable filter. A glass reservoir and carafe. And the whole machine is controlled with one dial, because your morning shouldn’t require a manual. And yes, it makes a damn good cup of coffee, brewed to SCA standards. We’ve built a lot over the last seven years, but this is hands down my proudest moment as a founder because it feels like the beginning of the Caraway I always believed we could become. To the incredible number of people across our team and partners who touched this project: you know who you are. The creativity, ambition, resilience and belief it took to get this over the finish line was truly extraordinary. I couldn’t be prouder of you. The future of Caraway Home starts today. Eric Korman reposted thisEric Korman reposted thisAt The Goodkind Co, our mission is simple, but executing it takes daily intention: To think and act in the best interest of our Brand Partners. That mission drives everything we do. It shows up in the thoughtful questions we ask during formulation, the high standards we hold in manufacturing, and the way we show up for the brands we work with. It’s not a tagline, it’s a responsibility we take seriously, every single day.

Eric Korman shared thisFinally an aesthetically pleasing system solution for recyclables and trash. Thank you Caraway Home!Eric Korman shared thisToday we are introducing a trash and recycling bin 🗑️♻️ I've been sitting with how to say that for a while, because on the surface it sounds like the least exciting sentence a founder could write on launch day. But here's what I actually feel right now: this might be the most honest product we've ever made. When we launched in 2019, we started with just cookware. But our vision was always bigger than the product itself. We named the company Caraway Home before we had any right to. For years, I sat across from investors who asked me some version of "Why do YOU think you have the right to launch outside the kitchen?" Not what's the product or what's the opportunity. Why do YOU think you can do this? I heard that in dozens of conversations. The word people kept using was "permission." Caraway doesn't have permission to go beyond cookware. Here's what I never said out loud in those rooms: I didn't call this company Caraway Cookware. I didn't call it Caraway Kitchen. I called it Caraway Home. On day one. On purpose. Because I always knew where this was going. Trash and recycling isn't a pivot. It's the point. Most people don't even have a real system, just mismatched bins scattered around because nothing on the market ever gave them a real solution. So we spent years quietly fixing that. The result is a trash and recycling system designed like furniture. Something you don't hide, something you feel proud of and something that makes that corner of your home finally feel finished. It's the first Caraway product that lives outside the kitchen. And I can tell you, it definitely won't be the last. To the Caraway team and partners who pushed for better at every step, this one is special. 🙏 And to everyone who's been here since the beginning: we started with 16 customers who took a chance on us on launch day back on Nov 5, 2019. The fact that millions of you are still along for the ride means everything. We said we were going to do it. We did it. Caraway Trash & Recycling is live today. 🗑️♻️ Link in comments.

Eric Korman shared thisGot get em Will Gahagan !Eric Korman shared thisToday, we launched the product that inspired us to start Biom — now available nationwide at Target and on getbiom.co. It took four years to get here. Disinfectants are in nearly every home in America. They’re also one of the hardest categories to enter — and one of the most broken. “Why did you wait four years to launch the product that inspired the business?” Fair question.. Honestly? A bit of ignorance. We knew surface disinfectants had to be registered with the EPA (they’re classified as pesticides). What we didn’t fully grasp was that registration would take years — not months. By the time we understood the timeline, there was no turning back. So we adapted. We parallel-pathed other products. And in the process, our vision for the brand sharpened. Launching a disinfectant isn’t about packaging and branding. It’s chemistry, efficacy testing, stability data, regulatory reviews, safety submissions, manufacturing audits — and patience. All inside a category that desperately needs change: - Harsh chemical actives like quats (if you don’t know what a quat is — do your research) - Plastic-based wipes (polyester fibers) - Single-use plastic canisters that live forever - A system built for convenience — not sustainability We set out to rethink the entire system — from formula to packaging to how it functions in your home. Today is a huge milestone. But it’s really the result of four years of persistence from a team that refused to cut corners — even when it would have been easier. To the Biom squad: thank you for believing early and staying late. This product exists because we willed it to market. And to our partners at Target — thank you for taking a chance on a better approach to a legacy category. We’re so proud to debut this together. The world doesn’t need more disinfectant wipes. It needs better ones. Hope ya dig.

Eric Korman liked thisEric Korman liked thisThe next big beauty launch might not come from a new ingredient. It might come from a new format. Consumers already know what they want their products to do. Increasingly, the opportunity is in rethinking how those benefits are delivered. Think skincare in sticks. Bodycare with serum-like textures. Hair treatments that borrow from skincare. Familiar benefits, delivered in formats that feel new. For brands, format innovation can create differentiation without losing sight of what consumers already understand and love. At Goodkind, we’re looking at where consumer behavior, formulation and format intersect — because sometimes the white space isn’t a new benefit. It’s a better way to deliver it. #TheGoodkindCo #BeautyInnovation #ProductDevelopment #BeautyTrends #BeautyManufacturing

It's an exciting time at Kellogg Executive Education. Jake Cohen took over this year as Associate Dean of Global EMBA and Executive Education to lead the next phase of growth. And when the new executive center overlooking Lake Michigan opens next fall, it'll set the bar for what a 21st-century teaching facility can be. Why teach on top of consulting and writing? Because the three reinforce each other. Our client work at Strategic Offsites Group shows us what's really happening inside leadership teams and boards. Writing forces me to think hard about what I'm observing. And the classroom tests whether my conclusions hold up with executives from a wide range of companies, industries and cultures who are rarely shy about providing immediate, unfiltered feedback. I'm looking forward to building some additional classes in my area: the intersection of teams, meetings and decisions. And I know I'll enjoy working with my new Kellogg colleagues by contributing what I've learned in four decades of outcomes-driven leadership team and board offsites to help take the program to even new heights.

Eric Korman liked thisEric Korman liked thisAt 31, I was running sales at a Sequoia-backed software company. Then I quit to start a wipes company with zero experience in CPG. I came from a world where shipping something required little more than hitting enter. Now we had to make stuff months before we knew how much we'd sell, pay for it upfront, and wait months to get paid. "Move fast and break things" hits different when breaking something costs you six months. Five years in, these are the 10 things I wish I knew when I started: 1. Knowing nothing can be a superpower. You question things everyone else takes for granted. Stay curious, but surround yourself with domain experts. 2. Separate the goal from the forecast. Set ambitious goals. Forecast reality. Plan for the downside. You hire, spend and buy inventory against the forecast—not what you hope happens. 3. Talk to your customers. Literally. Pick up the phone and talk to them. It's the fastest way to understand what's working, what's not, and what needs to change. 4. Keep it a team sport. Hire people smarter than you who challenge you, not people who agree with you. Sometimes the role outgrows the person. Sometimes the person grows with the role. Learn to recognize the difference. 5. Trust your gut. Then move forward. Get the data. Take the advice. But don't outsource your judgment. I've talked myself out of what I knew was probably true a bunch of times. You won't always be right. That's fine. Stalling is often worse than being wrong. 6. Know your numbers. You can hire people who are better at finance than you. You still need to understand exactly how your business makes--and loses-- money. 7. Start fundraising before you need the money. Give yourself six months. Raising capital when you have 30 days to do it isn't fun, and the leverage tends to swing pretty hard in one direction. 8. Growth can kill you. This one punched me in the face. In physical goods, you can be growing like crazy and still run out of cash. Plan ahead. Use debt where it makes sense. Negotiate the hell out of your terms. 9. Distribution isn't demand. Getting on the shelf is exciting, but retail is dog-eat-dog, and velocity is king. Staying on the shelf is the win. 10. Protect culture. Never underestimate what a small group of incredible people who genuinely give a shit can accomplish. Keep it a team sport. Win together. It takes years to build and can be surprisingly easy to screw up.

Eric Korman liked thisThis hits. For most of my career I’ve been focused on the climb. Earlier this year, I stepped away. After more than a decade championing a mission I still care about, I left an executive role to focus on being a more present mom at an important time in my daughter’s life. As a solo parent, the decision felt especially heavy. I already miss working, and I’m sure I made the right choice for us right now. This short break has been magic, and I’m also excited for what comes next. Cheers to all the flying squirrels.Eric Korman liked thisI'm in my flying squirrel era. If you'd told me 10 years ago that I'd walk away from the safety of a corporate career to build a fractional consulting business, I probably would've laughed. Hard. At this month's ChiefX Chicago, Dr. Jennifer Ashton, MD shared with Alison Moore a question a mentor once asked her when she was weighing a big decision: "Are you a spider monkey or a flying squirrel?" Do you take calculated, planned steps, one branch at a time? Or do you let go, leap and trust? Surrounded by a room full of multihyphenate women, I said it out loud before I'd even thought about it: "I'm a flying squirrel." I don't know exactly when I stopped being a steadfast spider monkey. But somewhere in the last 20 years, I realized the safety of the known branch wasn't working for me anymore. Life comes in seasons. Some hand you paths you never pictured and decisions harder than you expected. They're turbulent and scary as hell. They've also brought me the most joy and purpose I've ever had. I won't pretend I have perfect clarity. I still have plenty of "oh shit" moments. But moments like this one confirmed I'm right where I need to be. Today that looks like fractional narrative strategy for founders and companies in transition. It also looks like launching three lifestyle apps for serious hobbyists. Different leaps. Same squirrel.

My account actually got suspended because we drove so much activity on launch day they thought I was spam. 😂 And somehow that isn’t even the craziest part of the last weeks Coffee Maker launch. I’m honestly still a little speechless by the response. In less than a week:️ 📈 It became our best-selling product 🤑 We sold through our first batch 📱 The Coffee Maker went viral across social 📰 500M+ press impressions across 30+ features, by far our biggest launch ever 🏆 Parade loved it so much they delayed their Household Awards so they could name it 'Best Coffee Maker' in the 2026 Household Superstar Awards. The energy across our team, our community and the brand has been unlike anything I’ve felt in our seven years building Caraway Home. And then New York showed up in a way I never expected. People were lining up before sunrise to experience the Coffee Maker in person at our pop-up. More on that soon. This launch feels like incredible validation for where Caraway is going next ➡️ category by category, room by room. That’s how we build the first generation of non-toxic homes. To everyone in the Caraway community who made the last week happen: YOU ABSOLUTELY CRUSHED IT. VIBES are high. Caffeine levels are higher. 🚀 Cheers, grab a mug ☕ P.S. Still not affiliated with Big Cookware. The shirts were just a subtle reminder. 😅

Technology matters. But people matter more. When EVOLVh came to Kintsugi, the challenge was not just ongoing compliance. It was fixing past gaps, messy data, and complex multi state realities. What stood out most to Boris Oak was not just automation, it was the team behind it. Kintsugi powered through difficult data, backfilled compliance issues, and stayed hands on until EVOLVh was fully compliant and set up for long term success. Now everything runs seamlessly through Shopify, filings are hands off, and EVOLVh can focus on what they do best, building a category defining clean beauty brand. When Monday leaves you feeling this motivated, you have to share it. I was fortunate to attend the 2026 Global Beauty & Fashion Tech Forum hearing from leaders across beauty, retail and technology. Thank you Perfect Corp. CEW Fashion Institute of Technology Caldwell A few things I walked away thinking about: AI is quickly moving from conversation to execution — but companies need the infrastructure, governance and leadership to scale it. Consumers expect relevance. They want brands to understand them and help them make smarter, more confident choices. Technology should reduce friction, not create more of it. Simplicity matters. Trust is everything. As beauty becomes more personalized and technology-driven, credibility and human expertise become even more important. The real opportunity is connection — bringing together AI, digital, retail and the human experience in a way that feels seamless to the consumer. #lessfriction #AI #Digital #Retail #Beauty #Experience

Founder Deepica Mutyala will continue in her role as founder and visionary and remain on the board of directors, while co-founder and chief operating officer Neilesh Mutyala will stay in his current position. Jhawar assumes the role following a period of growth for the brand. Earlier this year, Live Tinted secured fresh investment in a round led by Curate Capital, with participation from Bold, L'Oréal’s corporate venture capital fund, as well as existing investors Monogram Capital Partners and Unilever Ventures. The company said the raise valued the business at more than double its 2023 Series A valuation. It also marked the first joint investment by Bold and Unilever Ventures in a US-based beauty brand. Each January, I look forward to visiting Alyssa Rapp at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business to talk about how we advance women into executive leadership and the boardroom. The class opens with an overview of where we are in female elected leaders and women CEOs in the Fortune 500, and those graphs fortunately rise each year. What we’re also tracking, however, is how certain other factors fuel the pipeline. A collegiate athletic background is highly correlated with success for women entering management roles. But even more important (including for the men in the room who, like me, don’t have any hand-eye coordination) is the documented trait of obsessiveness amongst CEOs of all backgrounds. They obsess over hobbies like stamp collecting, gardening and even forklift driving—and they apply that same level of intensity to their businesses. We can’t teach that passion principle in the classroom, but we can encourage it. Thank you Alyssa and the Booth class for having me back—Chicago winter isn’t all that bad! #ChicagoBooth

The search for a professional CEO or C-level executive to scale a founder-led beauty brand is one of the most consequential and potentially rewarding inflection points a company will ever face. The challenge is bridging the gap between what investors want, what founders want, and what the business actually needs. Lindsay Stevens and Melissa Sussberg shared the winning formula to make the equation whole. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dQgYkXbA #KPAInsights #BeautyIndustry #ExecutiveSearch #BeautyCEO #PrivateEquity

“I knew when I had my own companies, one of the things I wanted to make sure we did was grant equity to every single employee every year,” Tarang Amin, CEO of E.L.F. BEAUTY, shared with The Wall Street Journal. That’s a commitment he has put into practice. Since E.L.F. BEAUTY’s IPO in 2016, the company has granted $300 million in equity to employees outside of the executive committee. Over that same period, the company’s stock has increased about fourfold. It’s a powerful example of what becomes possible when companies choose to share success more broadly. At Ownership Works, this is the future we’re working toward: making shared ownership the norm, not the exception. Watch the full conversation: https://lnkd.in/ghvNJPmd.
