Vertex 1 is an independent Australian strategic team helping organisations navigate change across Defence, national security, government and industry. We bring together long-standing colleagues with senior military, government and corporate experience. Our relationships have been built over many years and are grounded in trust, different perspectives, honest advice and sound judgement. We help leaders understand what is changing around them, what it means for their organisation and what they should do next from setting direction and positioning for opportunity, through to strengthening organisational readiness and building the capability to deliver. Every engagement starts with the organisation and the decision it needs to make. A group of long-standing colleagues and friends who have worked together across Defence, government, national security and industry wanted to stay connected, keep contributing and put some of the experience we’ve gained over the years to useful work. Defence’s new capability delivery model will take time to settle. It would be easy for industry to wait until responsibilities, priorities and processes are clearer. But current programs still need to be delivered, and future requirements are already taking shape. The organisations that understand the change early, bring practical evidence forward and adapt their partnerships and delivery models will be better placed to contribute. So, can industry afford to wait for the new model to settle, or should it start adapting now? I’ll explore this further in Vertex One’s first Industry Insight next Tuesday.
