Most professionals think about performance in terms of output. At WHOOP, we measure that output and deliver it to you with our comprehensive Strain score. While often associated with training, Strain is a measure of the total load you're placing on your body on a daily basis—from workouts and travel to meetings, parenting, and everything in between. On this week's WHOOP Podcast, Dr. Kristen Holmes and Dr. Greg Grosicki unpack strain and give you the knowledge and advice you need to improve your overall fitness. Three lessons that stood out to us: 1. Performance isn't just about doing more—it's about balancing load and recovery. The goal isn't to maximize effort every day. It's to apply the right amount of stress at the right time, then recover well enough to adapt and improve. More is not always better. 2. What gets measured gets optimized. Many people underestimate how much cumulative stress they're carrying. By quantifying both cardiovascular and musculoskeletal load, strain provides a more complete picture of how hard your body is actually working—and why you may feel the way you do the next day. 3.Consistency beats intensity. The biggest gains don't come from occasional heroic efforts. They come from showing up day after day. The research discussed in the episode shows that individuals who consistently meet personalized strain recommendations improve fitness, heart rate variability, weight outcomes, and overall health markers over time. The Bottom Line? Whether you're leading a company, training for a race, or simply trying to perform at your best across work and life, success isn't about pushing harder every day. It's about knowing when to push, when to recover, and how to sustain progress over the long term. For more research, learnings, and recommendations for you personal fitness routine, check out Episode 381 of the WHOOP Podcast on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube.

MAJOR MILESTONE FOR WHOOP BLOOD PRESSURE INSIGHTS I am excited to share that the FDA has formally closed its warning letter against our Blood Pressure Insights feature. This is a major development. From the beginning, Whoop has stood behind our members and our belief that people should have access to safe, science-backed wellness information about their health. When the FDA first issued the warning letter, many experts advised Whoop that removing the feature was the only path forward. But we believed in the strength of science and our responsibility to the members who rely on it. That conviction guided our approach throughout this process. This is a positive outcome for Americans and for consumer wellness innovation. The science is clear that understanding changes in blood pressure has significant wellness benefits. We have consistently made clear that Blood Pressure Insights is not intended for medical use and was designed as a wellness feature with appropriate safeguards and disclosures for our members. We appreciated the FDA’s engagement throughout this process. We have tremendous respect for the agency’s role in ensuring that medical devices are safe and effective. We look forward to continuing to work with the FDA as Whoop brings more regulated medical technologies to market. We also welcome the agency’s updated wellness guidance, which provides greater clarity around the distinction between wellness products and medical devices. I also want to acknowledge the extraordinary scientists, engineers, clinicians, product leaders, and regulatory experts on our team at Whoop whose work made this possible. Their resolve and commitment helped us navigate this process thoughtfully while continuing to deliver meaningful value to our members. Onwards! #fda #medtech #wellness #wearables

HEALTH RECORDS NOW AVAILABLE ON WHOOP WHOOP started by helping people understand how sleep, recovery, and strain impact performance. This month, we’ve taken another step toward providing a more complete picture of health. Through a new partnership with HealthEx, Whoop members can securely connect their medical records directly within the Whoop app. The feature is now available to all our members in the United States. By combining clinical history with continuous biometric data, our WHOOP AI layer can also deliver more personalized insights and coaching based on the full context of your health. And of course privacy and consent remain at the center of the experience. Members choose whether to connect their records, can see exactly what information is shared, and can disconnect at any time. This is part of a much bigger vision: building the world’s most personalized health platform. Your clinical health data and your 24/7 biometric data are more powerful when they work together. #health #healthex #EHR #whoop

When most people think about yoga, they picture a mat, workout clothes, and an hour carved out of the day. What if you thought about practicing differently? This International Day of Yoga, we're reframing yoga for the workday with simple practices that can help you reset, refocus, and recharge. A 30-second posture reset between meetings. A seated spinal twist at your desk. A few intentional breaths before a presentation. A quick stretch after an hour of focused work. The best recovery habits aren't always the ones that take the most time, they're the ones you can build into your day. WHOOP data shows that during restorative yoga sessions, members' stress scores drop by an average of 13.7% over the course of the session. And on days members practice yoga, they're 20% less likely to wake up in red Recovery compared to their non-yoga days. Whether it's a posture reset between meetings, a few intentional breaths before a presentation, or a quick stretch after focused work, small moments of movement and mindfulness can add up to meaningful recovery benefits. What's your favorite way to reset during the workday?🧘

Men make 69% fewer preventive care visits than women. When men do get preventive testing, it's often limited to a few markers — like testosterone or PSA— with little context for what's driving the result. The challenge with single-marker testing is that you get a number, but not necessarily an explanation. Low testosterone might be a hormonal issue. Or it might be a metabolic one. An elevated PSA might warrant follow-up. Or it might reflect a benign condition. Without the surrounding data, it's difficult to know what's actually happening underneath the number. The WHOOP Men's Health Panel was built to provide that context. It includes 77 biomarkers, covering: A three-part prostate screen with Total PSA, Free PSA, and PSA % Free Metabolic markers like leptin and uric acid that can help explain why testosterone may be low Key cofactors such as zinc, magnesium, and Free T4 that influence hormonal function The full testosterone pathway, including DHT and prolactin, which total testosterone alone can miss For high performers, this is ultimately an optimization decision. You wouldn't manage training, recovery, or performance with a single data point. Your health deserves the same standard.

One of the earliest goals of WHOOP was to broadcast live data from the world’s best athletes. We wanted to help people see performance through an entirely new lens. When I founded the company, athletes at every level were being told the same thing. Push harder, train more, outwork everyone. Whoop became the first wearable to encourage athletes to push LESS and prioritize Recovery. We knew that understanding your body is the key to unlocking your potential. Sharing live data of the world’s top athletes became a powerful way to make that insight real, not just for athletes, but for everyone watching. To accomplish that, however, we needed real partners. I was never interested in just paying athletes to wear our technology. We needed to actually build a product that athletes genuinely wanted to wear and therefore never wanted to take off. We recently shared a video showing Cristiano Ronaldo’s heart rate during the title-clinching match in the Saudi Pro League. The response was incredible - more than 50 million views in the first 24 hours alone. What makes it even more meaningful is that Cristiano had been wearing Whoop for nearly two years before anyone on our team ever met him. He was already an authentic member. That’s always been the dream: build something athletes genuinely value, then work with them to share insights and moments that inspire the next generation. To help anyone, at any age or background, believe more deeply in what they’re capable of. #WHOOP #Recovery #SportsTechnology #Wearables #Innovation

You don’t need hours in the gym to see meaningful health benefits. Just 30–60 minutes of strength training per week is linked to a 10–30% reduction in mortality, cardiovascular disease, and cancer risk. The challenge? Strength training has historically been difficult to measure accurately. Today, WHOOP and Strava are bringing that full picture together. WHOOP strength and cardio workouts will now appear on Strava, so every session is automatically captured and shared, making it easy to collect kudos from your community. At the same time, your Strava activities now flow seamlessly into WHOOP with GPS, pace, distance, and power, so you can get a full view of your training. As a launch partner for Strava’s largest-ever strength initiative, WHOOP is helping define how users understand their training and establishing a new standard for complete, connected performance data.
