We have been quiet over here on LinkedIn… mainly because we’ve spent the fall working hard for our clients! Whitlock Law’s Amy Harber returned to her alma mater this morning to serve as a guest instructor for students at this year’s Virginia State Bar ‘s Oliver Hill/Samuel Tucker Pre-Law Institute. This program started in 2001 aims to expose high school students throughout the Commonwealth to the practice of law and to encourage them to pursue careers in the legal profession. Whitlock Law was honored to be a sponsor of this year’s Thomas D. Horne Leadership in the Law Camp, which wrapped up this morning at the Loudoun County Circuit Court. The camp, a joint project of the Loudoun County Bar Association & Loudoun Bar Foundation, provides rising high school seniors in Loudoun and Fauquier counties an opportunity to spend a week immersed in the legal profession. The campers are mentors by practicing attorneys and spend the week preparing a mock trial held in front of sitting Judges. In addition to sponsoring a meal and swag for this year’s event, firm employees Maxwell and Amy also served as volunteers. Max served as a volunteer witness in the mock trials, and Amy spent the week behind the scenes assisting with logistics in her role as the Loudoun Bar Foundation’s treasurer.
