At Studio Ellipsis, we spend a great deal of time building worlds together. And together we also spend time creating connections between everyone. This week, we took some time away from our desks to celebrate the debut of the Portuguese National Team and enjoy an afternoon together as a studio. Even though our national hero Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t able to bring the victory this time, there was no shortage of laughs, good food, and a positive atmosphere throughout the studio. Like Alex says, “It takes a village to build a game”, we're fortunate to have ours. Here's to friendship, teamwork, and the people who make Studio Ellipsis what it is. #teambuilding #studioellipsis

When we launched the Cradle of the Gods Collector’s Edition Kickstarter this week, we genuinely did not know what to expect. Last year, we released this new original 10-issue story - online and for free - because we believed that if we wanted to build worlds people cared about, trust had to come before scale. That philosophy sounds compelling in theory. It becomes far more uncertain once it meets reality. Eventually, every creative project reaches the same moment: The audience answers back, or it does not. The Collector’s Edition was funded in 3 hours. For a larger company, that is likely interpreted as a performance metric. For a small studio building original universes across multiple mediums, it felt more significant than that. Not simply because the campaign succeeded, but because it suggested that this less conventional approach to worldbuilding can resonate with people. Create worlds first. Allow people to discover them naturally. Build community around curiosity and trust. Then ask whether the audience wishes to go deeper. That has been the philosophy behind Studio Ellipsis from the beginning. We are grateful to everyone who supported the campaign and shared the project.
