  • Engineers Week: The People Behind the Impact The AEC industry supports millions of jobs nationwide and contributes more than $2 trillion annually to the U.S. economy. But beyond the numbers, engineering is about people solving real-world problems that shape how we live, move, and connect every day. At PRIME AE, that impact is personal. 💬 Why engineering? Gina Lay, PE shares, “Engineering allows me to blend problem solving with real-life applications. Every project is an opportunity to take something complex and turn it into something safer, more efficient, and more reliable for the people who use it. It lets me contribute to something bigger than myself.” 💬 What makes it exciting? Brandon Frazier, P.E. Frazier says, “Seeing a project go from lines on paper to a fully constructed roadway or pedestrian facility makes all the headaches worth it. I drive corridors we helped design almost daily. That positive local impact is incredibly rewarding.” 💬 How does PRIME AE support growth? Pierce Frye reflects, “PRIME AE has entrusted me with significant responsibility on challenging projects while still providing mentorship and technical support. That balance of ownership and guidance has helped me grow technically and build confidence.” Engineering drives infrastructure. Infrastructure drives communities. And communities drive the future. At PRIME AE, we are proud of the engineers who are making everything around us better. #EngineersWeek #AECIndustry #Infrastructure #EngineeringImpact #PRIMEAE #WeMakeEverythingAroundUsBetter

  • Engineering Drives Sustainability 🌎 Buildings account for nearly 40 percent of global energy-related carbon emissions. But sustainability goes beyond buildings. It lives in our streets, our infrastructure, and the way communities move every day. PRIME AE’s Park Street Road Diet project is a powerful example of how thoughtful engineering creates safer, more efficient, and more sustainable corridors. By reconfiguring lanes, improving multimodal access, enhancing pedestrian safety, and calming traffic, this transformation supports reduced vehicle emissions, improved air quality, and stronger neighborhood connectivity. This is what responsible infrastructure looks like. Not just moving cars, but moving communities forward. At PRIME AE, sustainability is not a feature. It is a responsibility. And through integrated planning, engineering, and design, we are making everything around us better. #EngineersWeek #SustainableInfrastructure #RoadDiet #CompleteStreets #PRIMEAE #WeMakeEverythingAroundUsBetter

  • PRIME AE in Practice | Transforming Wastewater Infrastructure – Charlestown, IN PRIME AE in Practice highlights the people and expertise behind the work, showing how collaboration, insight, and innovation turn ideas into solutions that make everything around us better. This Engineers Week, we are reminded that the United States faces hundreds of billions of dollars in drinking water and wastewater infrastructure needs over the next two decades. Safe, resilient water systems do not happen by accident. They happen through thoughtful engineering and long-term planning. In Charlestown, Indiana, our Wastewater Team is leading the design of major improvements to the Charlestown Water Reclamation Plant, positioning the City for long-term growth and regulatory compliance. The new Three Stage Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Facility is designed for an ultimate capacity of 8 MGD, with the first phase BNR basins and clarifiers to support 4 MGD average day flow and 10.5 MGD peak flow, with the Headworks, Dewatering Systems, plant hydraulic, and yard piping infrastructure already in place for seamless future expansion.  Here’s what PRIME AE in Practice looks like on this project: 💧 Advanced headworks with dual 15 MGD, 6 mm high-capture screens and tray-type grit removal rated to 15 MGD 💧 A 3-Stage BNR process with anaerobic, anoxic, and aerobic zones 💧 High-efficiency fine bubble aeration to reduce energy demand 💧 Innovative compressed gas mixing that cuts basin mixing energy use by 60% compared to conventional systems 💧 Planned and delivered new operations, laboratory, and utility maintenance building needed to support utility operations 💧 Smart wet weather management with automatic diversion to a 1.5 MG storage lagoon By screening peak wet weather flows before storage, the design reduces debris buildup and minimizes manual maintenance for operators, saving time and long-term operational costs. The upgraded facility is designed to meet stringent effluent standards of 10 mg/L TSS and cBOD, 10 mg/L Total Nitrogen, and 1.0 mg/L Total Phosphorus while prioritizing operational efficiency and sustainability. Construction was staged to maintain existing plant operations and allow repurposing of several existing structures and tanks to help manage costs.  This is more than a plant expansion. It is resilient infrastructure, innovative engineering, and forward-thinking design that helps make everything around us better by protecting water quality, supporting community growth, and reducing lifecycle costs. For more information, please contact Andrew Bohlen, PE (andrew.bohlen@primeeng.com) or Jim Hagerty, PE (jim.hagerty@primeeng.com). 👏 Huge credit to our dedicated wastewater professionals who continue delivering complex, high-performance solutions across Indiana and Kentucky. Stay tuned for more as we continue highlighting how PRIME AE in Practice is strengthening communities one project at a time.

  • With more than $1 trillion committed nationally to infrastructure improvements, a significant share is focused on strengthening America’s water and wastewater systems. Aging facilities, evolving regulations, and increasing performance demands are driving critical upgrades in communities of all sizes. This historic investment is not abstract. It is playing out in real communities facing real challenges. In Martin County, Kentucky, our PRIME AE Water Team is helping address ongoing brown water issues experienced by the Martin County Water District. In a recent article, Michael Galavotti and Jonathan McCracken, PE from our Lexington office outline practical, forward-thinking solutions to improve water quality and enhance long-term system performance. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ezzDp66w As funding opportunities expand nationwide, PRIME AE continues to partner with utilities to strengthen water systems, protect public health, and make everything around us better.

  • Engineers Week: The Impact Behind the Work Engineering doesn’t just shape projects. It shapes economies, communities, and the future. The AEC industry contributes more than $2 trillion annually to the U.S. economy, supporting infrastructure, job growth, and long-term resilience nationwide. At PRIME AE, we are proud to be part of that impact. In Florida, our Smart Work Zone (SWZ) program is transforming how transportation projects are delivered, using real-time data, advanced traffic monitoring, and intelligent messaging systems to improve safety, reduce congestion, and protect both drivers and construction crews. To date, the program has supported construction projects totaling more than $597 million, helping keep critical infrastructure investments moving efficiently while enhancing public safety across the state. In Kentucky, we are continuing our long-standing partnership with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet through the 2025 Highway Safety Improvement Program. The program invests in targeted safety improvements designed to prevent serious crashes and support Kentucky’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan goal of reducing annual highway deaths to 500 or fewer by 2029, with the ultimate goal of zero fatalities. By improving roadway safety, the program also contributes to reducing the estimated $340 billion annual national economic cost of crashes. Through projects like these, our teams are helping communities move safer, smarter, and stronger. This Engineers Week, we celebrate the professionals behind the work who help make everything around us better. #EngineersWeek #PRIMEAE #Infrastructure #TransportationSafety #EconomicImpact #WeMakeEverythingAroundUsBetter
