We often talk about AI, robotics, and XR as separate technologies. Increasingly, they are not. At the recent Humanoid Robot Reinforcement Learning Bootcamp in Barcelona, hosted with The Construct Robotics Institute, participants used PICO 4 Ultra Enterprise to control humanoid robots through natural body movements. At first glance, it looks like teleoperation, but something more interesting is happening. Every movement can become training data, giving the robot examples that can help train Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. A person moves. A robot observes. An AI system learns. That simple loop points to an important challenge: the bottleneck in humanoid robotics may not only be hardware or algorithms, but also the quality of human demonstration data. And that is where XR can play a meaningful role. By turning natural human movement into usable training data, VR can become more than an immersive medium. It can become an intuitive interface between human intuition and intelligent machines. One of the highlights of the training was seeing participants experience VR-based teleoperation for the first time, with many returning to the headsets even after the sessions had ended to explore the technology further. A big thank you to The Construct Robotics Institute and everyone who joined us in Barcelona. 🎥 👉 Watch the highlights below. #PICOXR #HumanoidRobots #XR #Teleoperation #EnterpriseXR

  • Immersive experiences are only as powerful as their ability to reach people. The next step is not just making better content, but ensuring it travels into new venues, new markets, new audiences, every day. Our partner STYLY, Inc. is doing exactly that: expanding its international immersive content distribution business, bringing Japan-originated experiences like AnimaLOOK!! and THE MOON CRUISE to venues across the world. For venues, the challenge is practical: experiences need to feel seamless for visitors, while remaining simple for on-site teams to run. That’s where the right hardware and software infrastructure becomes critical, and where PICO 4 Ultra Enterprise fits into STYLY’s workflow, supporting spatial alignment, kiosk settings, and LBE operations that hold up across locations. When the operational side works, content can scale. That’s the foundation STYLY is building on as they grow their global reach. 👉 Explore the full story on blooloop: https://lnkd.in/gtBVcSZD #PICOXR #PICO4UltraEnterprise #LocationBasedEntertainment #XR #ImmersiveExperience #SpatialComputing

  • Vision rehabilitation is entering a new era. It’s exciting to see our partner pushing this field forward with immersive technology and eye tracking. Congratulations to the team on bringing vision rehabilitation into VR and opening new possibilities for clinicians and clients alike.

Ten years ago, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT needed a way to assess peripheral vision in clients' homes. We built them a custom app that's been active since. Now we're rebuilding it in virtual reality — with infrared eye tracking that lets specialists see real-time gaze & fixation behaviour for the first time. This moves the assessment from observation-based to objective and measurable — a significant step forward for both the specialist and the client. Ten years. One client. One problem that kept evolving. That's why we love what we do! Thanks to Rob Pereira & Darrell Van Der Wolf for the great hardware that makes this possible and Ewa Borkowski for the big vision. #WebDevelopment #AppDevelopment #VirtualReality #HealthTech #Sydney

  • Training roof workers for a fall scenario is difficult for one simple reason: you cannot safely recreate the danger. Together with PwC Austria, Arbeiterkammer Österreich, and the Samariterbund Wien, EXP360 is using VR safety training on PICO headsets to help workers prepare in a realistic, controlled environment. Roof work is one of the highest-risk tasks in construction, and the need for better training is growing as photovoltaic installations continue to increase across rooftops. In Austria, construction accounts for more than one-fifth of all workplace accidents and more than one-third of all fatal workplace accidents, with falls from height among the most serious risks. That creates a clear challenge: workers need to practice critical safety procedures, but the most dangerous scenarios cannot be safely rehearsed on site. EXP360's experience turns rooftop safety training into a realistic, repeatable simulation, covering four key areas: 🔹 Securing the work environment 🔹 Safe work practices on roofs 🔹 Emergency response after a fall 🔹 First aid procedures Running on PICO XR headsets, the training gives workers a safe way to learn by doing. They can repeat procedures, make mistakes without real-world consequences, and build confidence before stepping onto a real roof. The experience is also available in a web-based version for PCs and laptops, making it easier for teams to explore the training wherever they are. 👉 You can try the web version here: https://lnkd.in/eEcPXVUQ This is where VR training becomes more than a better way to learn. It becomes a safer way to prepare. 🔍 Read more in EXP360's case study: https://lnkd.in/gAXnzn-E #VRTraining #WorkplaceSafety #ConstructionSafety #SafetyTraining #XR #VR #PICOXR #EXP360 #PwCAustria

  • Last week in Hamburg, we joined the nextReality.Hamburg e.V. Hackathon for two days of building, testing, pitching, and seeing how quickly strong ideas can take shape when teams get hands-on with XR. This year’s case partner was Gebr. Heinemann, who brought two real-world business challenges to the room. One challenge asked teams to rethink the airport tender experience: how can VR or AR make a high-stakes pitch feel more memorable, more immersive, and more convincing for decision-makers? The second challenge focused on sales training for Duty Free staff, exploring how VR and AI-powered customer avatars could help teams practice product conversations, customer interaction, body language, and multilingual communication. Across the two days, 11 participants formed 4 teams and developed working prototypes using PICO headsets. For many, it was their first time building with PICO hardware, which made the support from Rob Pereira, Dr. Lucie Kruse, and Prof. Dr. Eike Langbehn especially valuable throughout the process. The final pitches brought together a jury from PICO, Gebr. Heinemann, nextReality.Hamburg e.V., the University of Hamburg, and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, with each team presenting a live demo and walking through how their experience could work in practice. Congratulations to Alexander Fedorov and Karl Marggraff, who impressed the jury with their AI-powered sales training concept and the depth they achieved in less than 48 hours. A big thank you to all participants Mathias Heinemann, Simon Graff, Rob Pereira, Dr. Lucie Kruse, Prof. Dr. Eike Langbehn, Sean Keogh, and all the participants who brought their ideas, curiosity, and energy to the event. A great few days in Hamburg, and a strong reminder of how useful XR becomes when it is built around real-world challenges.

We're back from AWE USA 2026, and there is a lot to take in. Four days in Long Beach went fast: booth conversations, live demos, speaker sessions, partner showcases, LBE experiences, robotics discussions, developer tools, and a lot of familiar and new faces from across the XR industry. For PICO, it was a full week. At our booth, our teams shared the latest from PICO OS 6 and WebSpatial, alongside demos of PICO Business Suite, mixed reality product visualization, and immersive robotics teleoperation through our collaboration with NVIDIA. At the LBE zone, Synthesis VR Inc and Hololabs Studio showed what scalable free-roam VR can look like in practice, from multiplayer experiences to educational deployments. We also joined the AWE agenda with sessions on spatial web development, AI-powered coding, hardware ROI, spatial multitasking, and the next phase of spatial computing. Beyond the demos and sessions, we were proud to support the AWE Pride Dinner and spend time with the wider XR community. Away from the show floor and behind the scenes, we had exciting and insightful conversations about promising projects for PICO and the industry And one moment we will definitely remember: SecureMR by PICO XR was named Ethical XR Product of the Year at the 17th Annual Auggie Awards. 🏆 Thank you to everyone who stopped by, tried a demo, joined a session, or simply came over for a conversation. A special thank you to VR Expert for helping power the LBE Zone. Events like AWE are a good reminder that XR moves forward through the people building, testing, questioning, deploying, and improving it every day. See you at the next one! #AWE2026 #PICOXR #XR #SpatialComputing #SpatialAI #EnterpriseXR #VirtualReality #MixedReality #AuggieAwards

  • Sometimes, VR is not about going somewhere new but returning somewhere that means something to us. Our partner Vae Care recently shared a powerful moment from a VR session at Dougie Mac Hospice, where an older adult revisited Cornwall through one of their virtual field trips. His reaction was profound: "I've just relived my childhood." Through PICO devices, Vae Care has already facilitated hundreds of immersive VR experiences for older adults in hospices and care settings. As the service launches UK-wide, care facilities can use immersive content to support reminiscence, relaxation, and wellbeing in a way that feels personal and easy to deliver. Vae Care's platform now offers 30 immersive experiences designed for older adults and care settings, including virtual field trips, meditative experiences, breathing exercises, and drone-only content. As the catalogue grows, Vae Care plans to continue developing new immersive experiences, with guided virtual field trips remaining at the heart of the service. Participants and care teams will also help shape future content, ensuring new experiences reflect the destinations, themes, and experiences that matter most to those using the service. It's a strong reminder that meaningful XR does not always need to be complex. Sometimes, it starts with helping someone reconnect to a place, a memory, or a part of themselves again. #VR #XR #CareHomes #HospiceCare #Reminiscence #HealthcareInnovation #PICOXR
