Corporate Banking is hiring and the data backs it up. A recent American Banker survey of banking professionals found that 37% of corporate and commercial banking units are adding relationship managers and bankers right now, with 33% adding sales roles. Even as AI investment accelerates across the industry, headcount in client-facing functions is growing, not shrinking. What we're seeing in conversations with clients reflects that same pattern. Relationship Banking and Coverage remain a priority as banks look for professionals who can manage client relationships through a more complex, faster-moving environment. Treasury and Cash Management are evolving too, the strongest candidates increasingly combine relationship management experience with financial data analysis and funding strategy knowledge. And Commercial Lending continues to be one of the more active areas as banks compete for experienced lenders in a tighter credit environment. The takeaway: institutions are not cutting client-facing talent to fund AI investment. They are doing both at once, which means the competition for experienced Corporate Banking professionals is real.
