This week’s #ImageOfTheWeek features a familiar sight in the UK right now - oilseed rape fields in full bloom. While the true colour image (first slide) captures the yellow canopy, our Hyper-500 hyperspectral sensor (second slide) provides a deeper look. By measuring the narrower bandwidths of the canopy, we can detect subtle variations in water content and nutrient health. In May, this data is vital. It allows growers to identify in-field variation, such as localised moisture stress or nitrogen gaps - even when the crop appears uniform in standard imagery. These deeper orbital insights enable farmers to gain actionable insights into the real-time health and development of their crops to make informed, site-specific decisions. #OpenCosmos #EarthObservation #Agriculture #UKFarming

That's a wrap on the Delphi Economic Forum! 🛰️ Rafel Jorda Siquier, Founder and CEO of Open Cosmos recently joined the Endeavor Greece Satellite & Space Innovation panel to discuss Building Resilient Defence Supply Chains. He highlighted how Open Cosmos is leading the way through: • ConnectedCosmos provides a sovereign LEO broadband backbone for secure communications and digital resilience. • The OpenConstellation offers a strategic edge through a mutualised satellite infrastructure that allows partners to pool resources for better data cadence. • The critical shift toward dual-use technology for both commercial and defence sectors. It was great to connect with our customers, investors and partners in Greece. Maria Kalama #OpenCosmos #DelphiForum #OpenConstellation #ConnectedCosmos #SpaceTech #Greece #Defence

Happy St. George’s Day! 🐉 To celebrate the legend of St. George and the dragon, our satellites have captured this imaged of the Odeleite River in Portugal. Known as the "Blue Dragon River," its winding curves and unique shape create a striking resemblance to the mythical creature when viewed from above. It’s an inspiring reminder of the perspectives satellite imagery provides to help us understand and connect the world. #OpenCosmos #SantJordi #StGeorgesDay #EarthObservation #BlueDragon #Portugal #SatelliteImagery #Odeleite

We’re hiring Senior Mission Concept Engineers 🛰️ We’re looking for individuals who know what actually makes a mission viable technically, commercially and operationally, and are motivated by turning early stage ideas into viable end to end missions. "Our role is to define the future missions of Open Cosmos by turning customer needs into feasible, high-impact space solutions. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a concept you defined transition from the drawing board to a real satellite delivering results from orbit." - Jorge, Senior Mission Concept Engineer | Open Cosmos In these roles you’ll sit at the front end of mission definition where ambiguity and impact are both high. You will shape complex missions from first principles and translate customer needs into end to end architectures. This is about ownership, judgement and credibility. You’ll be trusted to define missions that the business ultimately builds. We’re scaling fast with a 100% success rate in orbit. If you want to see your work translate into real outcomes on Earth, we’d love to hear from you. 🔗 Click the link to apply! https://lnkd.in/eegiTqsx #OpenCosmos #SpaceTech #Recruitment #EarthObservation #Engineering #spacejobs #satcom

Open Cosmos and Ubotica Technologies to advance Autonomous Satellite Operations Through Nasa’s Fame Project AI-enabled Open Cosmos satellites to power real-time, in-orbit decision-making. FAME will demonstrate a new paradigm for Earth observation - connecting more than 50 satellites into a federated, intelligent network capable of autonomously detecting, analysing and responding to events in near real-time. - Enabling real-time intelligence in orbit: Moving from delayed, ground-based analysis to real-time, in-orbit decision-making. - From data collection to autonomous action: The FAME project will enable a group of satellites to detect events of interest directly onboard using AI, autonomously re-task themselves or other satellites and coordinate across a wider constellation without human intervention. - Scaling proven in-orbit capabilities: FAME represents the next evolution of Dynamic Targeting - scaling these capabilities across a multi-operator, federated satellite network. “This agreement marks a significant milestone in autonomous satellite operations and onboard data processing, setting a new standard for end-to-end system efficiency in space.” - Rafel Jordá Siquier, CEO of Open Cosmos https://lnkd.in/ekURgA-d #OpenCosmos #Ubotica #NASA #JPL #SpaceAI #EarthObservation
