Last week, I wrapped up my summer internship at Lyric Opera of Chicago as a Marketing Content Intern, and I’m incredibly grateful for the experience and everything I learned. From creating content and supporting PR initiatives to researching audience segments and contributing to social media strategy, I gained hands-on experience across different areas of marketing and PR. These projects strengthened my communication, research, and content creation skills, giving me a strong foundation for my future career. I’m especially grateful for the lovely people who made this summer so memorable. Huge thank you to Deborah Song, Janie Ragsdale, Michael Solomon, and Amanda Reitenbach for your guidance, support, and willingness to answer all my questions. And a special thank you to Camilla Fernandez for creating such a welcoming and fun experience for our intern cohort! Thank you to the entire Lyric team for such a rewarding summer. I’m excited to carry what I’ve learned with me as I begin a new position at Morgan Stanley as a Wealth Management Marketing Intern. Looking forward to what’s ahead!

Summers feel shorter and shorter each year, which is sad when you experience a summer you never want to end. Spending the summer at Lyric Opera of Chicago is something I will never forget. From the kindness of everyone who works there to the fun, educational aspects of learning the art of Opera, I was sad to say goodbye on my last day. This summer, I worked with their amazing gift planning team under Megan Morton's direct supervision. My projects ranged from researching historical records and analyzing event data to creating donor profiles, and I gained a broad understanding of the gift planning team's day-to-day operations. On top of that, I gained valuable insight into the legal nonprofit world, which had otherwise seemed very scary. My summer wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention the outstanding intern cohort I was part of. The summer flew by with many laughs across the building when the interns were together. While we very rarely ran into each other, we made time for each other during and outside of work. Thank you to all the interns this summer who made it fly by. Thank you to Megan, who kept me busy with interesting projects and answered all my questions, even when I asked 100 a day. A big thank you so much to Mike Biver and Jon Siner for the extra projects and legal advice. It was never a boring day in the office with you guys and Megan. Thank you, Camilla Fernandez, for all the intern events this summer and for being someone to lean on. No matter the problem, I knew I could go to you for help.
