Feeding Epic Days & Wilder Lives

About us

Kodiak is one of the fastest growing food companies that is disrupting the industry with its better-for-you breakfast and snacking options. Our journey with food began by restoring the tradition of whole grain flapjacks and adding some protein to fuel folks' adventures. In the process, we discovered that foods made closer to nature are not only fueling but taste better. So, we set out to inspire wilder, wide-open lives by feeding epic days through real breakfasts. That’s one of the reasons we’re in the scenic Rocky Mountains of Park City, Utah: to live our purpose and be close to nature. Our mission is to become the most loved, next generation food brand, and we’re well on our way. We’re expanding rapidly as our business continues to grow year-after-year and need to build our team with people that share our passion for the outdoors, bring industry experience, thrive in an entrepreneurial culture, and want to make an impact in the food space. We believe that eating real, good-for-you food, being active outdoors, and preserving nature will restore balance generations before us worked so hard to forge. We embrace the spirit of the Kodiak – a pristine wilderness with a rich ecosystem – and we rely on that spirit of the Kodiak to inspire the work we do, the food we eat, and the way we play. Our roles feature highly competitive salary, generous benefits, a fun and open culture, all-you-can-eat flapjacks, and a unique set of perks tailored to those who love the outdoors and live the Kodiak Code. • Here at Kodiak, we don’t just talk about living epic—we go do it, so each month we’re highlighting one Kodiak employee and their latest adventure. From snow days to weekend escapes to trips around the world, this series is all about getting outside, living the Kodiak Code, and bringing that energy back to the Bear Den.    Our first Epic Employee? None other than Chandler Anderson sharing a sport he’s passionate about with his little one.    Kodiak Q: What was your epic adventure, and what inspired it? Chandler's Answer: Skiing at Alta Ski Resort. Alta is a very special place for our family, we spend most winter weekends there and even got married there. Early season, my son mostly hung out on the patio while my wife and I took turns skiing, but he quickly grew bored of running laps around the tables and started stealing poles from the rack. His word of the month was “on,” and he’d proudly say “on” to every ski and pole he picked up.    Q: What made this “epic” to you?? A: Getting to share a passion for skiing and the outdoors with my son. He was gifted skis on Christmas, skied for the first time on December 26, and celebrated his first birthday on December 27. It felt like a pretty special way to wrap up his 1st year of life.    Q: What was the most memorable moment (planned or unplanned)? A: With mittens on, he couldn’t pick up the snow to eat it himself, so he solved the problem by lying flat on his stomach and eating the snow directly off the ground.    Q: What’s one tip you’d share for anyone teaching their kids a new sport? A: Keep it fun. Never push for “one more lap” if you sense they’re losing interest or getting cold. And snacks in your pocket for chairlift or magic carpet rides are mandatory.    Chandler and his family are living the Kodiak Code in real time: get outside, make it fun, pack the snacks, and bring those epic moments back to the Bear Den.

  • At Kodiak, our culture has always been our superpower — real, rooted, and held up by people who show up for one another (or bear together, as our team would say). As CEO Dr. Valerie Oswalt puts it best: “I attribute Kodiak’s success to its employees and our unique culture. Guided by our values in the Kodiak Code, we’ve built strong relationships that make it easy to celebrate each other's wins. We show up for one another, no matter where we're working from.” That spirit is what keeps us connected in a hybrid world. When recognition is tied to the Kodiak Code, it becomes more than a shoutout — it becomes a daily reminder of our shared values and the community behind them. Celebrating each other — in the grizzly-sized wins and the everyday moments — is what keeps our culture strong.

As Kodiak Cakes grew into a hybrid workplace, they wanted to keep their close knit culture alive by making their Kodiak Code values part of everyday work. Every recognition, whether from a peer or a manager, is tied to these values, making appreciation visible and meaningful across the team. This approach keeps their fully hybrid workforce connected, drives high engagement, and has helped Kodiak earn national recognition as one of Inc.’s 2025 Best Workplaces. Here's to the next generation of epic. This Giving Tuesday, we're giving a roaring shoutout to our partners at Youth Sports Alliance. YSA provides affordable after-school programs to kids of all ages, removing barriers to entry to sports and activities in an effort to get kids outside, try a new sport, and find connection. Being based in the mountains of Park City, UT, we know how special it is to have the opportunity to play outside and discover new passions. As the title sponsor for YSA's Get Out & Play program, Kodiak is stoked to fuel all of these wild ones on that adventure! Learn more about this partnership here: https://lnkd.in/g2J2Dy9p

  • Giving back is always a touchdown. We've joined forces with Kodiak investor and NFL Quarterback Joe Burrow and the Burrow Foundation to deliver 50,000 nutritious meals and snacks to children and families in need. Together, we'll work with local partners to ensure the donations reach communities where they can make the greatest impact. Here's the stacking up wins that matter most: https://lnkd.in/gNRSaxaT
