We recently had the pleasure of welcoming several Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems Co., Ltd. distributors and suppliers to Michigan City from Japan, including Hiroshi Honda (President & CEO) and Kyoichi Sawahata (Board Director) from Kokusei-kogyo (https://lnkd.in/gdb5MkKt) - an accomplished sales distributor for compressors in Japan. We were also pleased to host Kotaro Kurosaka (President & CEO) of Sanyokikai-seisakusyo (https://sanyokikai.co.jp/), a key machine processing components supplier, and Mami Shionoya (President & CEO) of Tokyo Shionoya (https://lnkd.in/gvGeTPVa), a trusted supplier of rubber components. I am deeply grateful for their visit, engagement, and interest in our manufacturing capabilities and future direction. On a personal note, this visit was especially meaningful to me. During my time as a compressor engineer in Japan, each of these companies provided tremendous support and partnership. Moments like these highlight the importance of long-standing relationships and mutual respect across our global network. I look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring future opportunities together.

  • Summer jobsites bring heat, dust, and pressure - and compressors need to perform through it all. During Safety Month, it’s a great reminder to focus on the practices that keep crews protected and equipment running strong. In this latest Compact Equipment Magazine piece, Hitachi Global Air Power’s Jerel Cole MBA PMP outlines key best practices for operating air compressors safely and efficiently. From managing high temperatures and maintaining proper airflow to ensuring electrical safety, sound awareness, and PPE compliance, safety and performance go hand in hand. Dependable equipment and routine inspections - daily, weekly, and monthly - help prevent downtime, while a strong “safety first” culture empowers crews to identify risks before they escalate. Last year, Hitachi Global Air Power celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Sullair brand - a milestone built on decades of innovation, teamwork, and perseverance. Now that the ground has thawed, our team gathered to create and bury a time capsule that will be opened at the 100th anniversary. Inside are artifacts that reflect our history, culture, and the current moment: what we value, how we work, and what we aspire to become. Standing side by side during the ceremony were long-tenured colleagues who helped build this legacy and newer teammates who will carry it forward. Together, we literally placed our shared history into the ground while looking ahead to the next generation who will unearth it. For me, this represented more than an anniversary. It was a reminder that we are temporary stewards of something bigger than ourselves - entrusted with honoring the past, performing in the present, and preparing the way for those who will celebrate Sullair’s 100th anniversary in 40 years. 🌱 Thank you to the "shovel committee" and the team who planned and executed the time capsule process: George Oudhuis, Sandy Rejak, Kristi Kowalski, Shonette McKeithen, Ryan Allison, Sara B., David Andrews, Karl Kuchenmeister, John Ahlborn, and Kelly Molchan.

  • A proud moment as we celebrated our graduating trainees from Japan and the completion of their U.S. program at our Michigan City headquarters 🎉  Through our international training program, Hitachi Global Air Power supports exchanges between facilities in Japan and the U.S. to enhance innovation, professional development, and cultural connection. Participants have the opportunity to learn from new teams, share their own expertise, and bring valuable experiences back to their home base. Each trainee made a meaningful impact during their time with us, and we wish them safe travels and continued success back home!
