40 Million Reasons to Be Proud of This Team The day started with a project status update from Shannon Parks, Managing Engineer – Collections System, Johnson County Wastewater (JCW), on the State Line Pump Stations and Forcemain project. It reminds me how proud I am of this team and of One GBA. Selected in 2022, this $40M investment will improve system reliability and reduce long-term costs for approximately 500,000 JCW residential, industrial, and commercial customers. What makes it special isn’t just the scale. It’s how it brought together nearly every part of GBA (survey, stream team, architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, traffic/transportation, public involvement, procurement support, and construction inspection), working alongside I-Solutions to enhance our designs through constructability review and real-world building insight. That collaboration helped make a complex project significantly easier to build and is a great example of how our integrated approach sets our team apart. All of this is happening in the highly visible City of Leawood, Kansas along a heavily traveled corridor, requiring constant coordination while navigating floodplain design, waste remediation, complex utility conflicts, and supply chain challenges. Tim Schneller and Colleen Connor are leading the overall effort, with Jacob Cox, PE and Mike Hart guiding construction inspection. It’s been a true team lift. #TeamGBA #GBAWEG #Municpal #RemarkableSolutions #JCW
