Last month we funded Robert J. Scott Thirty years ago, Rob founded Scott & Scott LLP, a law firm focused on technology companies. After spending decades helping businesses negotiate software agreements and defend against licensing disputes, he noticed the same problem over and over: Most companies sign contracts they don't fully understand until something goes wrong. So instead of billing more legal hours, Rob built software. In 2022, he spun out Monjur to bring attorney-grade contract intelligence to every managed service provider. Today Monjur protects 1,000+ MSPs, tracks 1,000+ vendor terms, and combines 25+ years of specialized legal expertise with AI that doesn't just generate answers: it cites contracts,  knows when to escalate to a real attorney,  and keeps agreements current as laws and vendor terms change. (Monjur) That's the kind of AI we like: Not AI replacing experts. AI amplifying decades of hard-earned expertise. We're proud to announce Founderpath has funded Monjur with $750,000 so Rob and his team can continue helping businesses avoid expensive legal mistakes before they happen. Why we backed Rob: • 30 years building credibility in technology law. • 25+ years of deep specialization serving MSPs—not a generic legal AI. (Monjur) • More than 1,000 customers already trusting the platform with mission-critical contracts. (Monjur) • AI grounded in proprietary legal expertise, with attorneys still in the loop when the stakes are high. (Monjur) Congratulations Rob. Excited to be part of the journey with you!

  • AI Founder retreat at Stanly Ranch. How to add $10m ARR, profitable, and fast: Jeff, Dylan, and Ben are all AI first. Jeff Lu built his own foundation model to help you create ai video. Dylan built massive database of ad training data to help you create avatar ads. Benjamin Douablin launched his own MCP to help you get emails/numbers faster. Real question is: Which one is better at poker? Evening of the second night is the founder poker tournament. DM me if you want a seat (3 tables of 8 each, professional dealers, we have 2 spots left).

I tested more than 10 GTM contact databases. I got better data, in less clicks, for under $50/mo with: FullEnrich I've confirmed some of my biggest podcast guests by cold emailing them using FullEnrich to look up accurate emails. The funny part? I first met Benjamin and Greg years ago at one of our conferences and a followup dinner. Later they visited Austin and we spent days obsessing over product together. Today that relationship comes full circle. Founderpath has invested $1 million into FullEnrich. (I begged them for equity, but they're smartly avoiding dilution, so we did a debt deal instead) Excited to help Ben, Greg, and the team build the highest-quality contact dataset for AI agents.

lemlist just bought Claap for $25M. The deal structure is not what you think: Deal Price — $25M all-in. ↳ $5M cash upfront (wired today). ↳ $5M Claap loan to Lemlist (3.5% interest rate, 2 year term) ↳ $15M earn-out if Claap grows from $2M to $10M ARR before Oct 2028 Claap does $2m in ARR so $25m deal price is 10x. If we just consider cash Lemlist had to pay upfront ($5m), 2.5x Most founders miss this when they read M&A press. There's a difference between Deal Price and cash wired at close. Get creative! Profits and creative deal making: ↳ Lemlist does $3.3m/mo in revenue ($40m ARR), profits 30% ($1m/mo) ↳ Uses positive cash flow to fund M&A. ↳ To keep Claap founders, Lemlist issued them convertible bonds at 20% discount to next priced valuation Timeline: May 2024 — First conversation between Lemlist and Claap founders. July 2024 — Term sheet signed after 60 days of diligence. October 2024 — Deal officially closed and announcement published. Yesterday — Claap traffic spikes 50x post-announcement. Guillaume Moubeche has always been gracious with his time (coming on my podcast/teaching founders). ... Charles Tenot and his team is carrying that transprency forward (and its working! $40m ARR building in public). I'm bullish on Lemlist: Founder-led, profitable, and doing strategic M&A. Building a full async-sales-communication stack. Claap already saw 50x surge in workspace creation after the deal. Founderpath acquired Boopos to help fund acquisitions. DM me if intersted in a term sheet. 👇🏻 Want my full call recording with Charles from yesterday? Comment “Congrats Lemlist!” or “Congrats Claap!” to get early access I'll DM you the private link tonight at 6pm EST #Lemlist #Claap #Bootstrapping
