Congratulations to EVAPAR's own Brandon Burke, who was recognized this past weekend as a finalist for the Industry Impact Award at the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) National Awards Banquet in Columbus, Ohio. Brandon, who serves EVAPAR's power systems customers throughout the greater Lexington, Kentucky, region, was nominated by the IEC Bluegrass chapter in recognition of his involvement and contributions to the organization. IEC Bluegrass represents 86 counties across Central and Eastern Kentucky and is one of 57 IEC chapters nationwide. Brandon was one of just six finalists selected for this national honor. Another new Generac Industrial Energy project was completed this week — this one to support the heating and cooling systems, including multiple boilers and pumps, for a large Indiana higher education institution. With an aging standby generator at the facility, EVAPAR helped ensure these critical systems would remain on-line with redundant support from a 500 kW Generac rental generator. The timing could not have been better for our valued customer on this project, as this SD400 unit, already on stock order, arrived within weeks. With site-prep work already complete upon delivery, this diesel unit was set in place and started up in a matter of hours, ready to provide dependable power for years to come.

How do you keep a backup power system operational in 200+ mph winds? The goal for this project was extreme: build a backup power system for a critical public-safety facility that could keep operating even if an F5 tornado passed directly over it. That vision is now becoming reality. EVAPAR is supporting the final steps of a hardened standby power system built around two 1,000 kW Generac Industrial Energy diesel generators, providing full N+1 redundancy for a facility that supports 911 communications, police, fire, severe weather response, health emergencies, and other essential services. Each generator is supported by its own 96-hour fuel supply at full load, while Generac Link Manager provides remote access, remote starting, and automatic notifications if an issue occurs. The system also includes a hard-wired rental generator connection for another layer of redundancy and easier load-bank testing. In an extreme emergency, one of the fuel tanks can even be used to help fuel emergency response vehicles. Generator capacity was fundamental, but this project was ultimately about designing resilience for a critical facility the community depends on when conditions are at their worst.
