Submission: Taking It to the Streets: Hepatitis C Screening and Care Beyond the Specialty Clinic

Collaborators: in collaboration with Street Medicine Institute and Circle the City | Supported by an independent medical education grant from Gilead Sciences.
This program piloted a simplified HCV screening and treatment protocol in a mobile street medicine clinic and trained care teams to initiate therapy in the field while tracking screening, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes.
This award honors partnerships that advance continuing education through innovative collaboration to address critical healthcare gaps.

This data-driven CME initiative evaluated opioid prescribing outcomes using EHR metrics and demonstrated increased clinician intent to change.
We’re especially proud of this collaboration, sparked by a connection at a prior professional meeting and highlighting mentorship and cultivation of the next generation of CPD leaders. Baylor Scott & White Health’s research was the foundation for this award, and it was a privilege to work alongside them throughout the submission process.
