We are partnering with the Association of African Universities (AAU) on a new three-part webinar series exploring how rich #metadata can strengthen African scholarly publishing. In the first session, our colleague Madhura S. Amdekar, PhD looks at how Crossref's open infrastructure and metadata services help publishers and institutions strengthen research integrity and increase the reach of their scholarly outputs, improving visibility, discoverability, and trustworthiness along the way. Making research outputs easy to find, cite, link, assess, and reuse.
About us
Crossref makes all kinds of research objects easy to find, cite, link, assess, and reuse. We’re a not-for-profit membership organization that exists to make scholarly communications better. We rally the community; tag and share metadata; run an open infrastructure; play with technology; and make tools and services—all to help put research objects in context.

If you're a research funder tracking open science commitments or monitoring policy compliance, this one is for you. On 7 July, our colleague Rocio Gaudioso Pedraza will walk you through how funding metadata and the Grant Linking System turns #research information into assets that support strategic decision-making. The session is designed for funders who are new to Crossref, familiar with funding metadata but not yet leveraging it, or existing members who are curious about registering their grants. 📅 7 July 2026 - 5:00 AM UTC 🔗 Register https://lnkd.in/eNGUZYfU #ResearchFunding #OpenScience #PersistentIdentifiers #GrantData

🔗 Registro https://bit.ly/4etghdv

🔊Librarians and editorial teams What’s the most important contextual information that’s not easy to capture in metadata? ☝️We’ll go first 👀 How much of time do you have, we have a list this big 🫸 🫷 And we’re working on shortening that list with richer metadata that can support more of the context surrounding research outputs. The behind-the-scenes platforms and numerous plugins and integrations that make scholarly communications run—hosting systems, submission/review tools, grant proposal systems—do the background work that turns research objects into metadata that the wider community can reuse. When they do it well, the whole ecosystem benefits. The new Crossref Service Providers accreditation program is open for applications. Any platform that works with (or wants to work with) our infrastructure can now signal the quality of their work by becoming Crossref-accredited. Members get clearer signals about whom to trust with their work and their budgets. Service Providers already doing excellent work get formal recognition for it, and others get a clearer bar to meet.
🎉We have officially re-launched our Service Providers Program. Do you 🫵 provide tools that support registration of rich metadata for Crossref members’ records? Thank you to the Crossref team for their support, enthusiasm, and belief in our mission! We're excited to build together to test the limits of what’s possible for high-volume, high-granularity DOI management. Our goal is to get working prototypes in front of real use cases as quickly as we can — and answer the technical, UX, operational, and infrastructure questions through that process. If you have a use case or want to be involved in the design process, get in touch! https://lnkd.in/eT-E4ZES
