My parents couldn’t afford dance classes for me when I was a kid. But I wanted to be a dancer so badly. So as an adult, I decided to finally try a class. I booked my first dance class through ClassPass and I was TERRIFIED. I had the passion, but I definitely did not have the talent yet. I walked into that first class feeling behind everyone else, unsure of myself, and completely out of my comfort zone. What I didn’t know was that one class would change my entire life. Three years later, dance has become a huge part of my life, even professionally, but the bigger gift has been the confidence, experiences, community, friends, memories, and joy it’s brought me. That’s what I think is so powerful about wellness benefits when companies offer them to their employees. Corporate wellness isn’t just about checking a box or encouraging people to “work out more.” At its best, it gives people access to experiences they may never have tried otherwise; movement, mindfulness, recovery, community, and new routines that support their overall wellbeing. For me, ClassPass opened the door to dance, community, purpose, and exercise in a way that fit me. For someone else, it might be yoga, strength training, pilates, boxing, meditation, recovery, or simply finding one hour a week to do something for themselves. Benefits like this can make a real difference in how people feel both in and outside of work. I'm even more productive at work because I'm constantly filling my own cup now both in and outside of work hours. I’m so grateful ClassPass helped me find a passion, a community, and a weekly reminder to prioritize joy.
