We’ve had a lot of exciting achievements here at #BrooklynBridgePark this month! We celebrated our Annual Staff Appreciation Day, where we recognized several staff members with Value Awards. Aaliyah Ruiz, a member of our Operations team, was the recipient of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Service award – the most esteemed recognition one could receive at BBP. We also want to celebrate Captain Diallo McLammy of our Park Enforcement Patrol, who won a service award from the NYC Mayor's Office of Parks & Recreation for Excellence in Customer Service. Congratulations to all!
About us
Brooklyn Bridge Park, one of the most transformative public projects in New York City in a generation, has revitalized a formerly industrial waterfront into a dynamic 85-acre civic space. Created to be environmentally and financially sustainable, Brooklyn Bridge Park is a model for resilient urban design that reconnects New Yorkers and visitors to the waterfront. Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) operates as a non-profit public benefit corporation of the City of New York and is responsible for the stewardship of the park—maintaining its landscapes, maritime infrastructure, and public amenities. BBP develops and delivers dynamic public programming that weaves together arts and culture, recreation, and environmental education to engage, inspire, and serve a diverse community.

This week, our DEI Committee planned a trip to Brooklyn Museum to view several of their exhibits for Hispanic Heritage Month! Our staff enjoyed getting an in-depth tour that explored all kinds of art, from textiles to furniture to dolls, and more. Thanks to our team members Shira Ungar, Onika Selby, and the whole DEI Committee for planning this!

Last night, Brooklyn Bridge Marina was honored by Brooklyn Bridge Park at their annual gala. We are deeply grateful for this recognition and proud to be part of the park. The park helps us understand what this water means. It's about celebrating the water, the community, and the organizations doing real work here. This has always been about being part of something bigger. Thank you to our community partners, Billion Oyster Project, Brooklyn Boatworks, and the Kayak Foundation. And to our team, this recognition belongs to you.

Come work with me at the best park in the world! I’m hiring an Advancement Operations and Events Manager to join my team at Brooklyn Bridge Park. We’re looking for someone who loves bringing people together, has a knack for keeping things running smoothly, and takes pride in getting the details right. It’s an exciting time to join us, with a new Education Center on the horizon and so much to make possible for this extraordinary place. Sound like you? Consider applying! Know someone great? Please pass this along. https://lnkd.in/gkiQRXFg

A joyous Wednesday evening beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, celebrating Brooklyn Bridge Park and the people who make it so special. With our honoree, Brooklyn Bridge Marina, and host Ben McKenzie, this year’s Gala was filled with warmth, laughter, and so much love for the Park. Best of all, every dollar raised through this year’s Gala will support the Park’s new Education Center, opening in 2028. A place for more young people to get curious, explore nature, and discover what’s possible. So grateful to everyone who helped bring this magical night to life. By now, we all know that the BPE team can get down, dirty, and sweaty when it comes to events. But every now and then we like to clean up, get a little posh, and throw some shine into the mix. Because who doesn’t love a little sparkle? ✨ Tonight is the Brooklyn Bridge Park Gala Underneath the Brooklyn Bridge and set against the glittering Manhattan skyline, this celebration brings an enchanting evening to NYC's home base and one of the city’s most breathtaking waterfront parks. #bluepalletevents #eventsteam #eventcompany

Next week is a big one at Brooklyn Bridge Park! On Wednesday night, we’ll gather at Emily Warren Roebling Plaza for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Gala, hosted by Ben McKenzie and honoring our friends at the Brooklyn Bridge Marina. This year feels especially meaningful because the evening is all about what’s next for the Park: our new Education Center, opening in 2028. It’s a project I’m incredibly excited about, and one that will create so many more opportunities for kids and families to discover what’s living, growing and happening all around them in the Park and New York Harbor. And the fun has already started. Our online auction is now live, with some truly fantastic only-in-Brooklyn experiences up for grabs. Take a look: www.bbpgala26.org/auction
