We had the privilege of hosting New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell at Audible's Newark headquarters. The Lt. Governor experienced our recording studios, Dolby Atmos technology, and live narration sessions—the audio innovation that's been thriving in Newark for nearly 20 years and helping to drive New Jersey’s creative economy. Since moving our global headquarters here in 2007, our mission has been to drive inclusive economic development. Through The Pillars retail hub, our Business Attraction Program, Future Leaders internship, and more, we're proud to contribute $1.76 billion in economic impact annually to the region. Thank you, Lt. Governor, for your visit and your continued support of the technology and creative industries building New Jersey's future. #AudibleImpact

This July, Audible's Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City spotlights three extraordinary voices: 🔸Gloria Steinem joins us July 14 & 16 at 7PM for 'Yes to the Unknown' — two intimate, salon-style evenings of conversation exploring love, loss, politics, and pop culture, that come back to the question: how do we build the world we want? 🔸Michael Cruz Kayne returns July 21 & 22 at 7PM with 'What Else What Else' — a live comedy laboratory featuring special guests Rosebud Baker and Patti Harrison testing brand-new material at lightning speed. 🔸Maria Bamford takes the stage July 23 & 24 at 7PM for 'Soundly Unstable' — sharp observations on money, mental health, and the particular madness of being alive right now, delivered with her signature kaleidoscopic style. "Stories are a way of making sense of our lives, and sharing them in community is how we discover we're not alone," said Steinem. That spirit of connection—whether through reflection, laughter, or candid conversation—is what makes Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre so special. All three shows will be recorded live and released as Audible Originals, bringing these unforgettable performances to millions of listeners worldwide. Tickets on sale now. Links below.

"It's actually quite thrilling because it lets me live the fantasy that I can hear things I know logically I cannot." J.J. Jones is a Deaf narrator who worked professionally in voiceover before losing his hearing. For Kelly Reynolds' 'Catch Got Your Tongue,' he returned to voice acting—performing an audiobook he'll never be able to hear himself. Our Audible Studios team used frequencies lowered to 250hz so J.J. could feel vibrations, live-document and ASL communication with director Sara Pagluica, and physical placement techniques instead of traditional sound-based direction. This proves that when we prioritize accessibility in production, we expand whose voices shape the future of audio storytelling. 🤲 Listen to 'Catch Got Your Tongue' on Audible: adbl.co/3SrgB3C

"The intimacy of a narrator's voice deepens character connections and emotional immersion in ways that feel essential to the genre." In Canada, romance audiobooks are one of the fastest-growing genres on Audible, with nearly a third of listeners calling it a favorite. Our Head of Global Consumer Content, Diana Dapito, attributes this surge to the unique power of audio narration—where skilled performers use vocal choices, pacing, and emotional nuance to create what one narrator calls "cinema for your ears." Toronto author Lily Chu, who publishes Audible Originals before print, writes with audio in mind. She does an "audio edit" by having her computer read drafts aloud while she does chores—optimizing for the 81% of audiobook listeners who multitask while consuming stories (Source: BookNet Canada). Audio preference among readers has doubled since 2020, driven by pandemic-era demand for connection and escapism. For creators across genres, the takeaway is clear: immersive narration and audio-first strategies are reshaping how stories reach audiences.
