To close out National Engineers Week, our Sarasota Atwell and RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture teams faced off in a head-to-head Chopstick Competition! 20 landscape architects, civil engineers, and planners battled it out in a high-stakes challenge: transfer the pens, ink side down, into a cup using an assortment of fun training chopsticks. All in the name of “improving hand dexterity for better CAD skills,” of course. (We’re calling it professional development). After a heated single-elimination showdown, Associate Project Manager Maxamillian Moody claimed victory and took home the WWE Champion Belt. Looking for an office environment as fun as this? As we continue celebrating Engineers Week and this year’s theme, Transform Your Future, we’re proud to spotlight Abram Tenorio, one of our current interns who is already making an impact. A former St. Philip's College student within the Alamo Colleges District and now an engineering student at The University of Texas at San Antonio, Abram has been recognized as the 2025 MOSAICO Student of the Year for his outstanding academic success and personal journey as an AlamoPROMISE Scholar. His path reflects the power of access, opportunity, and determination. “Supporting students like Abram through programs such as AlamoPROMISE really helps bridge the gap between education and real world experience, setting them up for long-term success.” – Ricky De Leon, Associate Director at Atwell and Abram’s mentor. Abram is transforming his future, and we are proud to be part of his journey. Thank you to Alamo Colleges District for sharing this video with us. #Atwell #NationalEngineersWeek #TransformYourFuture #InternshipOpportunities

Big updates are coming to the ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey standards in 2026, and while they don’t reinvent the survey, they absolutely make it clearer, more practical, and more aligned with how surveys are done today. What does that mean? Fewer gray areas. Clearer accuracy standards. Better visibility into encroachments and potential risks. And smoother transactions for lenders, title teams, and property owners. Learn more about what this change means for the industry and how Atwell can help navigate these standards with confidence. https://bit.ly/4aBCmTM

Vice President, Jackie Larocque, P.E., had the opportunity to speak with youth through the The Immokalee Foundation, sharing her career journey in engineering and encouraging students to stay curious, seek mentors, and explore the many paths ahead. We’re proud to support organizations investing in education, opportunity, and future leaders. Great work Jackie!
We welcomed three civil engineering professionals who each brought a unique perspective on their careers and the paths that led them there: • Jackie Larocque, P.E., – Atwell, LLC, • Courtney Richards, PE – Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) • Josh Michalski, PE, CBC, – Crevalle Consulting They shared honest insights about the field — from the challenges they’ve overcome to the opportunities that shaped their careers. For our students, conversations like these are more than career talks. They help spark new ideas, influence college decisions, and open their eyes to the many pathways within engineering. Exposure to real professionals helps them imagine where their interests can lead — and what steps will get them there. Thank you to our speakers for joining us!

Surging electricity demand can’t be solved by generation alone. The U.S. grid is reaching a critical moment, and smarter transmission planning will shape what comes next. Atwell’s approach? We treat early development not as a preliminary step, but as the foundation for long-term success. By planning with the end in mind, we help our clients move complex energy projects forward with clarity and confidence. https://bit.ly/4ttSCia #EnergyInfrastructure #TransmissionPlanning #GridModernization #InfrastructurePlanning #EnergyProjects
