His love for photography also extends to collecting vintage cameras. Each camera in his collection at Atria Newport Beach represents a different chapter in the history of photography, from classic film cameras to the technology we use today. For Stephen, photography is a chance to preserve a moment that might otherwise be gone in an instant. 🎞️

“Engage Life means finding joy," says Sarah, an Engage Life Program Instructor at Atria Newport Beach. "It means making time for our residents who make me smile, even on hard days. It means being present and appreciating the moments I get to share with them. Getting to make those memories with them at this moment in life.” Sarah was recently recognized as Employee of the Month, and it's easy to see why. Her passion and attention to residents' needs have made her indispensable to her team. She shares that working in senior living has taught her an important life lesson: to slow down. "It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of daily life and work. But when a resident calls you over and asks you to sit for a minute, everything shifts." Those little pauses help her refocus and remember the purpose behind what she does every day. Sarah, thank you for reminding us that Engage Life isn’t just about what we plan or the places we go. It’s about being present, slowing down, laughing together and finding joy in the people right in front of us.

Please join us in congratulating Carolina, one of the outstanding Medication Technicians at Atria Newport Beach, for being recognized as employee of the month. Carolina has been part of the community for 3 years, and during that time she has consistently gone above and beyond in her role. When asked what she loves most about her job, Carolina shares, “I love being able to advocate for residents who sometimes can’t advocate for themselves. I also enjoy getting to know each resident on a personal level and learning about their unique personalities.” Her caring heart and dedication make a meaningful difference every day. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Carolina is also pursuing a nursing career and is currently preparing to take her boards to become an LVN. Thank you, Carolina, for all you do. What a fabulous way to spend the day in San Francisco! Atria at Foster Square residents enjoyed a wonderful concert excursion to see the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, complete with a chartered bus ride, an amazing lunch and unforgettable music. The highlight of the day was cheering on Bernie, a Life Guidance Program Specialist at Foster Square, as he performed on stage! Bernie shares, "My heart is filled with so much gratitude from all the love and support from the residents of our amazing community." It was a joyful day filled with pride, community and incredible talent. 🌈

VIPs party at Atria Tarzana! 🪩🐶 Very important puppies, that is. Each month, all the furry neighbors are invited to a tail-waggingly good party, along with their humans and neighbors. It's a great chance for the dogs to enjoy some extra attention and playtime. With a table full of treats, we're sure some doggie bags were taken home. 🦴

Life Guidance residents at Atria at Foster Square enjoyed a whale watching outing along the San Francisco Bay coastline, spotting migrating gray whales. They had a blast soaking up fresh ocean air, talking with friends and making the most of the opportunity to observe marine life in its natural habitat. It looks like it was a whale of a time!
