The APIC Center for Research, Practice, and Innovation (CRPI) has released a new evidence-based resource, An Overview of Surgical Irrigation Evidence-Based Guidelines for Reducing Risk of Surgical Site Infections, synthesizing information and recommendations from the CDC, WHO, SHEA/IDSA, AORN, ISMP, USP, and the FDA. This guidance distills current evidence into practical considerations for infection prevention practice, including SBAR communication tools to support safer decision-making.
