New homeowners wanted to remove the modern. Some architectural detail remained after a remodel a few years ago, but there was still potential for more of the details to reflect their traditional tastes. So we kept going! We added moldings, built-ins, an historical arch, a facelift for the stairs, color drenching in the living room, and lots of unlacquered brass. We drenched the living room in color, created an arched separation to dining room, with new wainscot, and an inviting window seat.

The mood and character of the great room in this open floor plan is beautifully and classically on display. The furniture, away from the walls, and the custom wool area rug add warmth. The soft, subtle draperies frame the windows and fill the volume of the 20' ceilings.

We created this beautiful high fashion living, formal dining and entry for a client who wanted just that... Soaring cellings called for a board and batten feature wall, crystal chandelier and 20-foot custom curtain panels with gold and acrylic rods.

The homeowners of this expansive custom home wanted to create an informal year-round residence for their active family that reflected their love of the outdoors and time spent in ski and camping lodges. The result is a luxurious, yet understated, comfortable living room that exudes a feeling of warmth and relaxation. The dark wood floors, cabinets with natural wood grain, coffered ceilings, and floor to ceiling stone fireplace with bluestone raised hearth, offer the ambiance of a 19th century mountain lodge. This is combined with painted wainscoting and a built-in flat screen TV to modernize the space. The built-in bookcases are an inviting detail that adds coziness to the room.

While every stitch of furniture was kept neutral, Henck Design layered textures to maintain a chic quality and specified only the finest of furnishings and home decor for this client’s interior design project.
