Our homeowners were looking for a garden where they could sit by the fire, grow vegetable and hear the sound of water. Their home was new construction in a modern farmhouse style. We used gravel and concrete as paving. Board formed concrete firepit keeps it feeling modern. The vegetable beds supply season vegetables and herbs.

APLD 2021 Silver Award Winning Landscape Design. Painted galvanized troughs used for vegetables in the side yard. An expansive back yard landscape with several mature oak trees and a stunning Golden Locust tree has been transformed into a welcoming outdoor retreat. The renovations include a wraparound deck, an expansive travertine natural stone patio, stairways and pathways along with concrete retaining walls and column accents with dramatic planters. The pathways meander throughout the landscape... some with travertine stepping stones and gravel and those below the majestic oaks left natural with fallen leaves. Raised vegetable beds and fruit trees occupy some of the sunniest areas of the landscape. A variety of low-water and low-maintenance plants for both sunny and shady areas include several succulents, grasses, CA natives and other site-appropriate Mediterranean plants complimented by a variety of boulders. Our team transformed this once neglected lakefront cottage into a one-of-a-kind sanctuary to be used as a year-round residence. These creative homeowners were craving an outdoor living space that felt naturalistic while still offering the comforts of an upscale retreat. In response, we designed and curated a fully integrated living space including expansive cedar decking with built-in hot tub that appears suspended over the steep meadow-inspired pollinator garden below. Bluestone steps create a sturdy, non-slip walk down and native grasses and drought tolerant perennials offer screening and a natural buffer to activity on the water; delivering color and textural interest for this unique outdoor retreat all year long.

Just installed this week! Still needs to grow in! Custom made Corten Steel Hexagon Herb Garden beds. Raised up to waist high, can be reconfigured if desired, but loving the honeycomb effect here. Full of perennial herbs like sage, rosemary, thyme, French tarragon.

Wetland buffer planting of both ornamental and edible varieties of plants 4 zone, complete automatic drip system with micro valve (manual) controls on all beds
